Evan De Novellis is an Italian DJ and producer whose passion lies in crafting beautifully emotive explorations within the genre of melodic techno. His first exposure to electronic music came courtesy of the ambient explorations of Moby, inspiring in him an appreciation for music that evokes a sense of melancholy.  He then fell for techno inspired by the works of artists such as Paul Kalkbrenner, Stephan Bodzin and Sam Paganini. De Novellis started producing at the age of 17 and has been making music since, with a sound that blurs the line between progressive house and techno, and is typified by dark, energetic sounds and melodies that stir both the senses and emotions.

De Novellis returns with part two of a trilogy of introspective works that collectively provide an insight into his inner workings and a narrative of his life. Following the hugely successful "Tension", which peaked at #23 on the Beatport Melodic House & Techno Hype Top 100 chart, De Novellis presents “Noir”, a deep, atmospheric melodic techno track that is as dark as the name suggests. Written during a difficult period in his life as he went through depression, the track represents the darkness that resided in him, even as he tried to hide it from those around him by putting on a brave front. The track conveys this beautifully, with an undertone that is  dark and haunting and a nuanced arrangement that reflects the volatility of inner turmoil.

After Balm released two summer hits with "My Sound" and "Other Keeper (feat. Knixx)" on Traktor Records, the "Be Yourself" EP on Twin Town will now hit the stores for the fall season. (V.Ö. 22.10.21)
The originals captivate lightness and joy and get you in a good mood at any time of the day or night. A certain reference to the good old downbeat and trip hop times of the Viennese school are recognizable here. A homage to Tosca, Trüby Trio and K&D, without losing the thread of originality and freshness in the arrangement or mixing. Involved in this story are also old and new companions who have worked on "Balm's" originals. 

"Erlenbrunn & Stachy.DJ" announcing their first collaboration as remixers, on "Balm's" track "Be yourself" deliver a five-man spa chapel of analog sources, jazzy, dubby balm with a lightly glitched vapor note to heal your souls with the remix. Respect goes out to the Labbelbuddys "Bronsyn" who added a silky piano line and live drums and "DomFX" who plucked the funky shingaling bridge with his electric guitar.

"Sample Samurai's" remix creates exciting new textures in "Go" by purposefully destroying and restructuring the elements. As a contrast to the jazzy and flowing original, "Go" shows its faster side in the remix and brings the track to the dancefloor so that it can also go off in house and electronic sets.

"Agja" on the other hand lets the summer warmth in once again in the "Go" remix, playful and graceful at the same time, he nestles a Balearic note into the track which glides towards the sunset in powerful organic house. 

Studio Pflug" was responsible for the mastering and the beautiful cover was done by our youngest designer "Ida". A strong package that will surely enrich DJ sets or playlists.
