This is the long mantra of Chenrezig or Avalokitesvara - the Boddhisatva of Compassion. The short version "Om Mani Peyme Hung" is said to contain all 84,000 teachings of the Buddha in 6 syllables. This recording is an offering of prayer to the people and land of Nepal after a devastating Earthquake caused much damage and many deaths in April 2015. Om Mani Peyme Hung is chanted for many purposes, one is to bless those who pass on to transition from this world into the higher realms.
