This Yiddish folk song is a celebration of the balalaika, a three string musical instrument of Russian origin.  The song tells a story of a certain young man, who falls iove and stays up all night to develop a plan to woo her.  The song nvites us all to dance in celebration of life.  "Tumbalaika" is very similar to the Ukrainian song "Leti Ptashok."
