Tartelet Records rounds out 2018 with ‘Minor Forms’ by Urulu, a bumping EP that winds up the label’s roster of ambitious releases to celebrate its tenth year in business. 

The California producer and DJ has made his mark this year with a string of standout releases on Kalahari Oyster Cult, Voyage Recordings and his own Amadeus imprint, showcasing his affection for euphoric nostalgia and tight grooves.
 
Urulu stretches out with signature key changes and an elegant hustling tempo across four tracks, reflecting the diversity of touches and influences he has become known for. On ‘Minor Forms’, he teases the straight and the breakbeat with elements of jungle, electro, ambient and old school, delivering a satisfyingly moody resonance amidst the dancefloor functionality. 

Urulu follows Max Graef, Glenn Astro, Space Ghost and others in Tartelet’s 10th year, celebrating the label’s commitment to work across genres.

Bohemian Materialism EP is the first release of our freshly revamped Kommuna imprint. The A-side features a UK garage infused 2-stepper from the up and coming producer Crump, while label owner CMYK explores the more melodic side of the breakbeat sound. The collaboration between Kommuna’s co-founder Pekkuliar and Driahn produces the goods for the B-side with a ghetto/reggae take on the 2-step sound while the EP concludes nicely with a feel-good remix from Imprints mastermind Domenico Rosa.

Track by track, we are building a Kommuna of both well-established artists and unknown studio dwellers, who share our obsession for music discovery without following any particular genre limitations.

While solely focusing on his music career, he has risen to prominence within the international club and festival scene. With influences in deep, minimal and classic house, he has a knack for producing tracks with hypnotic and dreamy textures. His latest EP on Palms & Flamingos 'Love Orion' showcases that talent. With Wyatt 6AM on Remix duties on his house track 'Love Structure', he transforms it into a minimal house track with a infections hi-hat pattern sequence, bouncy bassline, extraterrestrial melodics and a ninja like swooping sound looping in the background. 

'Love Orion' will be out on Beatport on March 25th, 2019.
