Late February will see Syncrophone sub-label Phonogramme release Chasindub’s ‘Still Here’ EP, comprising four original from the Romanian artist.
Dan Gheorge aka Chasindub has been steadily carving his own raw and atmospheric style of house and techno for the past eight years with the Lisière Collectif and alone, releasing on labels such as Mike Grant’s legendary Moods & Grooves, Muted Noise and of course Phonogramme,
sub-label of the Parisian, Syncrophone record label, store and distribution company, where he returns to here for a solo outing.
Up first on the package is title-track ‘Still Here’ an off-kilter slice of ethereal fuelled by soaring pads, rounded low-end drones and crunchy broken percussion, followed by ‘Yellowstrate’ which retains a similarly smooth and atmospheric feel with soft, airy pads fluttering around bumpy breaks, vocal stutters and hooky synth blips.
‘She Is’ opens the flip side and lays focus on swirling dub echoes, electro tinged bass leads and rolling drums before ‘Monza’ rounds off the package with an acidic feel, fusing 303 bass tones with bumpy percussion and tension building atmospherics to create a mesmerizing, hypnotic workout.

‘Hanine’ opens the EP with a sexy groove and rumbling low bassline that just feels like it’s about to burst any moment. The restraint and suspense is kept in check by a beautiful dubby melody and subtle melodic riff’s popping up here and there. The tracks powerful suspense and energy building capacity makes it a perfect after hour tune.

‘Midan’ is a straight forward no bullshit 909 groove with a bassline that will make your granny shiver. A funky acid melody gets layered on top elevating the track quality to that of a song. If Hanine is the foreplay, then Midan is definitely the orgasm.
