This song started as a recording of Computart playing the guitar and singing/whistling to a metronome, which you can find raw on his page. Having worked together before on a song called The Shining, the Frenchman reached across the pond again and asked the Yank if he would like to add anything to this. This style of music being one of Josh's favorites, he jumped at the chance. He got Ken involved right away because every great song needs a great drummer. Josh added a bass line, to which Ken added drums, to which Josh redid his bass line, as is their usual process. Josh then added the mandolin. Then, Ken added the hand drums to put the icing on the cake. Tez was generous enough to produce and mix this for us, and we feel like he got it to sound like we were all playing in the same room together. 

  We hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed putting it together.

I love this song and It makes me cry and also be so proud of all the women raising their children on their own and doing the best they can. its a hard road. I love how she totally grasped the reality of how hard it is to have a moment to think and find peace in the rare moments between work and home , because its all wanting you to show up and be fully present for all the people in your life. I think women get so unfairly judged by society wanting them to be the perfect employee, mother, friend etc. I don't smoke , but I understood what the lady in this song means when she is just wanting 5 minutes to find peace and maybe a piece of herself that is left at the end of the day. Makes me want to come over to her house and say "Girl , you are doing your best and I am here for you , if you need a friend'. ( This song is by Gretchen Peters.(love her )

He won his first Grammy in 1991 and at age 70 he was named Artist of the Year by the Americana Music Association.  His songs have been recorded by the likes of Johnny Cash, Bettte Midler, Bonnie Raitt, George Strait and many others.  His new album , The Tree of Forgiveness is receiving so much acclaim.
