A new collaboration between Best Available Technology and Ovis Aurum, the BOA project kicks off a new series of 12" club records for Styles Upon Styles in 2020 with a 3-tracker laden with bruising, experimental takes on UK bass, dub and dembow rhythms.

Two BOA originals on the A side, "Body Series" and "Deglover", channel the power of classic Digital Mystikz bassweight and the churning dancefloor weaponry of Vex'd to forge a volatile new style of UK club music as heard from across the pond. The flip side owes it's vibe to riotous dembow percussion as one of the UK's more innovative DJs, Mosca, squeezes BOA's sound (including audio from their forthcoming LP) into a slinking, sidewinding reggaeton monster.

Our next mix comes from local DJ maad aka Lily Relief. She played one of our favourite sets at midnight during one of our events in October, showcasing hypnotic, trippy music that's fun to move to. This mix is similarly enchanting, weaving luscious soundscapes with rich, textured, minimal sounding techno and breaks.

Il invite cette fois-ci, la dj basée à Vienne, Lucia Kagramanyan(@lusinekagramanyan). Originaire d'Arménie, Lucia étend son spectre musical à tous les genres et s'essaye sans cesse à insuffler des airs de son pays dans une vibe tantôt obscure, tantôt vive. Elle a récemment commencé à faire ressortir la diversité de la musique arménienne dans ses podcasts intitulé "Panorama Yerevan" sur NTS.

“Some of the music on this mix is very old, some of it is so new that it isn’t out yet. In my mind all of it is traditional, spiritual and ceremonial. A ceremony can be a collective improvisation by Paul Bley and his band, Lo Ka Ping playing the Guqin, King Tubby in his studio - Everybody is trying to channel something. This sentiment, abstract as it may be, leads me in the search of new sounds and trying to humbley arrange them one after the other”.

Neophyte, for sure, and these are all my newly found treasures, that I have dug up from around the world.
