New month new edit! This time it's Belgium 90's Italo-House singer 'Chris & Moi' euphoric piano track 'Male Dans La Peau'. After hearing one of the artist's songs in a mix I scoured the internet looking for any quality downloads and came up empty handed (damn the rarity hoarders!) Thus, the 180p Edit was born from a YouTube rip of a live lip-sync on Belgian RTL TVi, rebroadcast in 2007 and uploaded by the one and only Dj El Fabio. Working with a TV version I constructed a heavy but lovers-friendly low-key dancefloor edit sure to have the touchy ones holding themselves with closed eyes and warm heart. The RTL TVi slogan seems fitting to end this announcement, "Your emotions in a big way." Enjoy, share with your friends, and drop some love in the dance <3

For years now, an old recording of Jeffrey Sfire at Cocktail D'Amore's one and only cosmic hole was one of the highest references for us in terms of downtempo Italo sleaze - an almost 6 hours recording serving more like a PhD aural dissertation specialized in some of the most remarkable dancefloor digs (mainly Europe) had to offer in the 80s at under 115BPM. To be able to share it publicly on the HAND Mix Series as we reach number 50 is a huge honor and we're greatly thankful to Giacomo and Giovanni, the two cuties behind Discodromo that made this possible. We hope you can appreciate it as much as we have over these past years. Good news! Pacific Spirit is back after a small hiatus with our first mix of 2024. This time around it's a 3 hour live recording from one of Pittsburgh's finest, Aaron Clark. Here's a bit of back story on the recording:

In October 2022, Hot Mass threw a fundraiser for the Kyiv Angels – a group doing work to support Ukrainian civilians. We tapped Kyiv’s Closer resident Shakolin, and I took the warm-up set of the night. This is the recording of my part of the night. I dusted off a lot of old favourite records and leaned into a slow build that I try to set the club up with, tugging the floor between psychedelic rhythms, trippy techno and pops of house. This recording landed in that bullseye opening zone I aim for, and I hope it transports you to my favourite little dance floor in the world."

Detroit might be synonymous with techno, but it also has a rich house tradition. And Rick Wade—FKA Big Daddy Rick—is one of Detroit house's key players. Along with the likes of Keith Worthy, Theo Parrish and the late Mike Huckaby (who Wade had a lifelong friendship and friendly rivalry with), he created a hybrid sound that is both techno and house, effortlessly soulful, sculpted and glowing—and Midwest to the core. As Tajh Morris said in a retrospective review of one of his classic records, "growing up in Buchanan, Michigan, meant that Wade was much closer to Chicago than he was to Detroit."

Many of Wade's best records were released on Harmonie Park, his era-defining label that also featured plenty of work from Huckaby. Those EPs still sound fresh and timeless today, qualities that extend to Wade's RA Podcast, which features 90 minutes of smooth-as-butter house old and new. Over the years he's kept the flame burning for the smouldering sounds of Detroit house, working in sounds from younger producers like Folamour along the way. Enjoy listening to a master at work.
