Currently lives in Berlin where he makes industrial techno with his cousin Mike Tansella Jr as SONS OF TRADERS, & has released on Squirrels On Film, Diffuse Reality, The Black Lodge Recordings, Nutty Wombat, Soil Records, Raw Culture, Clan Destine Rec, Minor Adjustment Rec,FU.ME Rec, experimental cassettes on the UK's Seagrave label, Dead channel REC (US). He produces music by himself under pseudonyms Hannibal III and The Sympathizer.

Which artists has influenced you the most?

- It's a tough question I can't answer with just one name. But I can say that the band that made me want to make music are the "Beatnigs".

What new projects/releases with your participation are expected in the near future?

- It should arrive soon on "FRIGIO REC" something with one of my projects: SONS OF TRADERS ( me and Mike Tansella J.r ) and maybe something on the same label as TANS. I just finished some tracks for a play by Teatro Pubblico Pugliese. There is also a compilation out these days for FU.ME (DAAF TRAX 3 [FU.ME 017]). With another of my projects (La Musique Rituelle et Profane) a Tape should come out soon by PHORMIX. Last but very important is a vinyl only compilation for Feral Colony ss Sons of Traders with my cousin Mike Tansella Jr.

Which artists/labels is more relevant to you now?

- This is also a question that I could not answer, none less than others. There are very good people around and I discover new ones every day. Right now as I write to you I am listening to Carols Souffront.

What inspires you now to create music?

- I really like to be inspired by the books I read, but of course it's the music itself, that is other people's music. Many of my tracks are inspired by my wife and my son. And, of course, going to a party and listening to music at the right volume. 

What set-up do you use when creating music?

- The main structure of my tracks is made with a modular system that I have assembled in the last 8-9 years (with many economic sacrifices !). But also synths such as Korg Wavestate, Roland Sh01, Td3; Drum machine as Acid Lab, Kawai R55, Roland DR550 . 
My mixer is a very simple SOUNDCRAFT.

6 track full album LP by Fashion Flesh aka John Talaga from Michigan. He is known for his “off the grid” approach to music and has solo releases on great labels such as Unknown Precept, Jacktone and Fit/Est. 83’ Records.

Most all of the instruments used to perform and produce are self-built electronics, oscillators, generators, sound toys, and modulators. Those that are not built from one's own design are heavily modified beyond audible recognition or return. No sampling/stolen sound is ever used or sucked from outside pre-existing sources. 

No laptops, instead tape manipulation and hard copy cut-ups...analog devices that are built for specific purpose and dis-purpose.

"Rubber Mountain" is Fashion Flesh's first full LP and the first solo album we've released on Black Lodge. 6 tracks of mutant mayhem, spanning from odd italo-disco flavors, to no-wave, post-punk, jakbeat, and experimental sounds from the beyond. 

Equally for the dance floor and home listening, this record has it all. Also a visual artist, this release is housed in a full color double-sided jacket with art created by John Talaga himself.
