The Detroit underground dark jazz scene brings forth The Dark Messiahs' latest track, "Kid Twist." The melody of the piano weaves its way through the song with its hypnotic ostinato.

Blue Six's trumpet cuts through the atmosphere with a raw, distorted edge, adding an element of gritty allure to the ensemble. Tully Wilson's clarinet dances in and out of the arrangement, casting its spell, while Wilt Flowers' bass provides a steady, heartbeat that anchors the composition.

But it's Sonny Rhodes' piano that truly steals the spotlight, guiding you through the piece. From moments of melancholic reflection to bursts of more frenetic energy backed by Sticks Thompson's masterful drumming, driving the rhythm forward with precision and passion.
