The influence of British electronic music genres has been everpresent in the work of Lao - take jungle for example which left its traces throughout his whole discography, starting from 2012's track 'Mangle' all the way until the praised album 'Chapultepec' released last year. After all, it is also Aphex Twin tattoo that graces his forearm as a testament to the life-changing experience that was stumbling across the music of this visionary musician. Half-jokingly, maybe that's why Other Islands, a London-born producer, was such a great companion for Lao to create a collaborative EP 'Lo Que Queda, Vuelve', a three track release which adds baile funk, dembow, grime and ballroom to the pool that already includes the aforementioned jungle. On a more serious note though, Other Islands is definitely the one to watch as proved by his latest outputs - a remix for Lila Tirando a Violeta produced alongside Imaabs and a track for Precious Metals compilation.

Lo Que Queda, Vuelve ("What Remains, Returns") is the collaborative EP by Mexican producer LAO, founder of the label Éxtasis, and emerging London-born musician Other Islands.

Released via Terminal, the EP unfolds across its three tracks, weaving together an array of global sounds, from baile funk and ballroom through to dembow and grime, creating a genre-bending record built for the dancefloor.

LAO’s innovative take on experimental club music fuses with Other Islands' spectral UK sensibilities, channeling the cacophony and surrealist smog of Mexico City, their shared home. The record’s hybrid sound traces links back to sound-system aesthetics while looking forward to what’s ahead. Lo Que Queda, Vuelve embodies Terminal’s commitment to sonic exploration and cross-cultural exchange.

A Golem is mythical, humanlike figure made from clay and magically able to move on its own. In the Bible, Golem is an unfinished human being, without a soul. Through the process of its own evolution and its makers' experiments, a Golem can contain or generate its own soul. It can appear in different interconnected forms and reproduce itself at will. A golem with a soul, in order to speed up its own evolution, will sometimes supersede or devour the original form of life. The album Golem is inspired from this source. Shanghai native 33EMYBW (Wu Shanmin) has been an active member in the Chinese music scene for over a decade. A core member of Shanghai’s most well known experimental rock/electronic band ‘Duck Fight Goose’, over the years 33 has been a member of numerous bands including 33 Island, Boojii and Muscle Snog. In 2015, 33EMYBW released her first solo single "EMSYGYDL" on SVBKVLT’s ‘Downpour’ compilation and in 2017 released her debut album ‘Medusa’ on Beijing’s DForce Records. As well as regularly playing throughout China, she has performed at CTM Festival and Sinotronics Festival in Germany, China Drifting Festival in Switzerland and SXSW.
