CLR is back with release number 83 and has something very special in store this time. Monoloc´s latest effort offers a challenging mixture of various electronic music genres. Apart from the original version and the Monoloc Edit, which occupy the A side of the vinyl, two highly respected producers have contributed remixes to this project, making it an impressive assembly of potential A sides.

Monoloc´s original version underlines the capacity of the Berlin based producer, to create unorthodox, suspenseful Techno with a very personal handwriting. Once more the beat structure, treatment of vocal bits, the selection of sounds and the overall arrangement and production style make his productions easily recognizable and truly unique. His additional edit surprises with a mesmerizing and enchanting sequence, which could easily become one of those laid back after hour sunrise classics. The two versions alone would make a dignified EP already, but then there are the remixes by Roman Lindau and Rødhåd, which turn this release into one of the most diversified CLR releases ever. While Roman Lindau takes a House oriented direction and excellently works out the potential of the track on the more uplifting side of the musical spectrum, Berghain resident Rødhåd explores the dark side of Monoloc´s composition and delivers a haunting Techno version full of well balanced bass, phasing sequences and an irresistible, almost tribal rhythm structure.

CLR083 is one of those releases that characterises the direction the label has taken over the last years and is equally interesting to DJs from all kinds of stylistic branches of the scene. It´s available on vinyl as well as digitally and will surely grace countless record bags and playlists all over the world.

A place where multiple minds find a harmony somewhere outside their own identity and each collaboration conceives a genuinely unique artifact. Of course it would only be right to kick off the first track of the first HUB One way. An alliance with, Pan-Pot. "Tension' is a heavy number with just a few key elements, it's a slow lurking journey through a dark forest at night. As each bush and branch is pushed aside and every step inches closer to a destination unknown, the pressure builds. Soon, without knowing, you are in the depths of a jungle with no way back and only one decision. Keep going.

Second track of the EP is Next is 'Hak' with Philipp Ruhmhardt. Together they have already made waves with their tune, 'Doch' becoming an anthem almost immediately since it's release last May. This time they are back with a stormer that feels like racing through a metropolis at warp speed. Each chord stab is a quick, bright flash of color as the shakers and hi hats impersonate the rapid pulse of a speedometer. 'Hak' is a white knuckle ride.

'Iyewaye', Oliver Koletzki’s first release after the autobiographical I AM OK album, introduced a new facet of the artist’s sound. The EP catered to a darker and more raw aesthetic, a direction followed and deepened by the four remixes. First up is the title track 'Iyewaye', turned into a lengthy tech infused introspection by Hatzler. Loosely centered around the initial vocals, Loco & Jam’s makeover explores the track’s captivating snappy narrative. The more rhythm focused 'Ipuza' gets a special treatment from Hidden Empire who dial up the aggression of the percussion. Zakari & Blange downplay the track’s initial exotic elements, focusing on the rattling synths and giving it a late-night dancefloor rework.

Oliver Koletzki – Iyéwaye (Hatzler Remix) [Full Track]

Senso boss Oliver Huntemann first released the original version of Magnet in 2011 as a part of his Paranoia LP on Ideal Audio. A few years later, Brazil’s leading underground techno light Victor Ruiz reworked the track into an unofficial bootleg, which since had been rinsed by Ruiz, Huntemann and a slew of top DJs around the world. Such was its effect on the dance-floor, it’s now finally receiving an official release via Senso in a slightly updated version. The track itself is a lesson in tough, driving techno - unrelenting in its mission, yet infused with layers of subtlety and deeply funky beeps, squelches and effects. It’s a machine-funk monster, and it’s easy to see why the bootleg clocked up over 225,000 listens on Soundcloud.

Do you believe in conincidences?

I don’t - anymore. I used to believe in conincidences but I’ve learned that everything happens for a reason. And that everything in life happens for you, not to you.

So, I have been busying myself with the idea of an remix album of classic tracks of mine for quite some time. But I struggled with the selection of tracks and which remix artist to pair with which track.  Until certain people entered my life. Some of them I only „met“ through their music on social media and never in person, others I met briefly, like in a car to a festival and some I started to hang out with and they became real life friends. All of these people connect with my music and I feel drawn to their music and in many ways we insprire each other.  As a natural result this remix EP took shape and I am excited to present it to you. The record contains four remixes of tracks from my back catalogue that cover a period of 20 (!) years, from my early days on Bush in the mid 90s to my first label Spiel-Zeug Schallplatten in the 00`s up until now, where I run Electric Ballroom from Berlin. HVOB have only just released their impressive debut album, but the next EP is already on the way: "Always Like This" is almost a tribute to the Vienna-based electronic duo's current wave of success.
Number 1 in the iTunes Dance Charts in Austria and number 3 in Germany, number 3 in the Beatport Deep House Charts – and HVOB's eponymous debut album continues to win the band critical acclaim in a success story which began when the first snippets appeared on Soundcloud a year ago. HVOB's Berlin-based label Stil vor Talent, which is no stranger to success, has been delighted by one of its best selling albums to date.
HVOB's third EP is scheduled for release on April 26 – and the track selection seems to be more than mere coincidence. "Always Like This" is an accurate reflection of the young Vienna electro duo's life right now. Anna Müller and Paul Wallner are "super happy" with the way things are going, busy as they are with all the live appearances in cities like Berlin, Paris and Istanbul, long nights spent in the studio and the formation of new partnerships: alongside Four Artists, Primary Talent, one of the world's major booking agencies, will in future be looking after the interests of HVOB.
"Always Like This" is the third single from the album "HVOB". HVOB's cover of the track by British indie rock band Bombay Bicycle Club mixes warm synth pads with soft beats, while Anna Müller's distinctive voice puts an entirely new spin on the melancholy of the original. Oliver Koletzki and Andhim have both made remixes of HVOB's interpretation of "Always Like This": Oliver Koletzki's version is powerful, emotive and melodic, while Andhim's shows incredible attention to detail and is intensely deep and original.
HVOB, which stands for "Her Voice Over Boys", are Anna Müller and Paul Wallner, who formed the duo in spring 2012. Müller (composition, production, vocals) and Wallner (composition and final production) produce intelligent, sophisticated electronic music, which is both easy to listen or dance to. The Vienna duo, who favour live on-stage performances with the backing of a drummer, will be appearing at the Donaufestival in Krems, Lower Austria, the Lighthouse Festival on the Lanterna peninsula (Porec, Croatia), the Pratersauna in Vienna, the Übel & Gefährlich in Hamburg and the Ninkasi in Lyon.
