Halloween wasn’t store-bought in the 1960s, it was made from old clothes in the basement and a spark of imagination. A sheet became a ghost, Dad’s Navy uniform turned me into a sailor, and pillowcases grew heavy with candy as we walked block to block with friends and neighbors.

But toward the end of our street stood a house set back in the shadows, the one we all called the Witch House. The woman inside looked the part, and her crooked stare made us whisper and hurry past. That mix of excitement and fear gave Halloween its magic.

This song is a reflection of those nights, the laughter, the legends, and the spirit of Halloween that still lives on long after the trick-or-treat bags are gone.
