They came to London for the 2010 edition of RBMA as two of the most distinct voices in electronic beat wizardry. Two years later, their meeting under the Academy roof and their shared passion for intricate organic soundscapes resulted in a full-length joint project called Kidsuke, which was released on Project Mooncircle to much critical acclaim and collegial backslapping. Using a toy-based jam session on kidkanevil’s living room floor as their starting point, the duo’s LP combined a refreshingly creative concept with the synthesized know-how of two highly adept beat eccentrics.

I was heavily inspired by Chris Marker’s film Sans Soleil (Sunless) just before I began recording the EP. He talks about remembering and memories; we preserve our recollections through photographs, films, literature and in my particular case, music. Each track on the EP is essentially a memory preserved.&#13;
&#13;
The EP deals with ennui or just the overlying feeling of listlessness that usually props up when one thinks life is futile. Again, like my last release, this EP is quite melancholic in nature except the themes are more mature. I’ve focused on the artificial gratifications such as drugs, sex and what these temporary distractions can do to you and the relationships around you.&#13;
&#13;
I tend to take these dark subject matters and try and transform them into something beautiful, it’s incredibly cathartic. This is why I find it amusing and overwhelming when people call my music “ethereal” or “uplifting”.&#13;
&#13;
I really love Dostoyevsky’s work or just any Russian author to be honest. His novels are incredibly detailed and meticulous, everything is palpable. I want any release I put out to feel this way. When people listen to my music I want them to be able to really feel the sounds, as if they can touch them: I work really hard to try and accomplish this.&#13;
&#13;
Lastly, I think what inspires me the most about being a musician: is the story telling. To be able to project your stories and memories through sound knowing that there’s at least somebody out there that will listen to what you have to say.&#13;
&#13;
Featuring production by such renown producers as Go Yama, Insightful, Laplace and Galimatias, ‘Falstrati’ comes out worldwide on limited clear vinyl in December 2014.

Prison Blues

In a strange twist of Global Warming, LIQUID ROCKZ are back with some hot beats for these cold times. From futuro-Columbian Trap vibes, to the Kalimba-fused space Cumbia, the feeling is at once rooted in traditional sounds that stare off into outer space, blending and mind bending.

On GRINGO, South American cultural influences meld with Club-music influences New Jersey / Philly / B-More, which are filtered through these German atmospheric shades to provide music that is a step forward while being a look back. The rhythms are authentic yet robotic; an electronic re-palette, complete with mysterious alien vocals and trippy melodies intact.

Indeed, a number of tracks on GRINGO are re-interpretations (not really a “cover”, mind you) of songs from yesteryear. We find that coming to full effect with tweaked- out vocals and ultra-melodic basslines dancing around with the Funky Drummer. There’s bubbling rhythms and as the intensity builds, you have pure dance floor bliss in the form of organic future dub. More Club beats find their way along side obese synth washes, intense pumping bass, and disembodied vocal chops. Even right from the beginning, the album melds different worlds and minds.

This adequately prepares your mind for the eclectic journey the music of LIQUID ROCKZ takes you on.
