Finally, I can talk about this - my debut album Human is coming next year, March 10. This is the first single from it, Adrift, with my long running vocal collaborator Kathrin deBoer. I had a simple piano chord progression and a randomised percussion idea to give to Kathrin, who captured the feeling beautifully with her lyrics and jazz influenced vocal approach. It's more of a personal piece of music for me than a club track, which is the approach I've taken for the whole album.

Daktyl is a multi-instrumentalist with a diverse musical experience. A coveted sound across BBC Radio 1 & 1xtra over the past year, he’s also just completed a 32-date tour with Slow Magic and additional official remixes for heavy hitters such as Flosstradamus and Dirty South. Belgium’s music scene has few cornerstones. R&S set a first in the 80s, Soulwax came in the 90s and Eskimo emerged in the early 00s, its evolution since more colourful than all of them combined. Taking music into emotion, introducing new names and spotlighting the cream of the current crop, ‘The Orange Collection’ is bright, genial and buoyant. 

‘The Orange Collection’ is the latest installment in a new compilation series on Eskimo based around colours. Following the lauded first three chapters in this enterprising series -Pink, Blue and Green- Eskimo once again selected 12 songs with exquisite care. An effortless journey encompassing a range of sounds through indie dance, nu disco and electronica, it’s reassuring to find that Eskimo still stands for timeless quality and originality.

Core sees Raumskaya move away from the frenetic footwork sounds that he and his St. Petersburg collective ‘Beryoza’ first rose to prominence with, replacing it with an eclectic spread of reference points ranging from vintage hardcore to cutting-edge sounds such as wave music.

"Imprint”, the first full length offering from guitarist/producer Derek VanScoten produced under his alias Cloudchord, drops March 21st on Gravitas Recordings. Drawing from obvious jazz and funk roots, the 12 track LP invites subtle influences of future bass, tropical house, and disco to mingle fluidly. However, it’s quickly discernible upon first listen that these influences have cemented into something new; the album is delivered as agreeably familiar yet blissfully fresh, mixing straight beat and broken rhythms with live guitar and poignant synth melodies throughout. Fans of live electronic and indie music will feel at home during the flavorful collaborations with SunSquabi of All Good Records and Los Angeles based trumpet player Erinn Bone.

After performing as D.V.S* for the better part of a decade, VanScoten opted to reboot his project as this new moniker only a year ago. In that short time, he’s composed official remixes for Autograf, Magic Giant, and Of Monsters And Men, plus collaborated over the years with Cherub, Dom of Big Gigantic, Emancipator, Random Rab, and Michal Menert to name only a handful. Although his reputation as a guitar player has taken him far, Cloudchord has truly come into his own as a producer with the release of “Imprint”, solidifying a bright future for a truly multi-disciplined talent.
