French producer Teho makes a swift return to Herzblut to follow up his excellent Hope EP from May this year. His latest work sees him team up with fellow Frenchman and huge talent Tran, who's own music has been described as oscillating between minimal and melodic. Making this partnership a perfect fit. 

Their KOTO EP sees Teho & Tran submerging us in trademark emotional and powerful soundtracks, enhanced further by their use of the wonderful sounds of the Orient. Lead cut Asakusa elegantly displays its power through its pulsing one note bass and opening broken beat pattern. Its liquid flow sees it gather intensity before the Eastern strings echo in its breakdown. On the flip we are treated to more of the same, this time lead by Kabuki's beautiful flutes, warped bassline and plucked string melody. Perfection.

Theta Eridani (θ Eri, θ Eridani) is a star in the constellation Eridanus. It has the traditional name Acamar from the Arabik Ākhir an-nahr which means "the end of the river“.
Acamar is a double star with some evidence suggesting it is part of a multiple star system
Acamar's distance from Earth as measured by the Hipparcos astrometry satellite is approximately 120 light-years.
Ptolemy described Acamar as a first-magnitude star, which some have taken to be in fact Achernar, which today appears just above the horizon in Alexandria where Ptolemy lived.
Achernar, however, was not visible to Ptolemy (it is from Alexandria today due to procession); its declination in 100CE was -67, making it invisible even at Aswan. Ptolemy's Eridanus thus without doubt ended at Acamar, which rose about 10 degrees above the horizon from Alexandria. This fact besides positively identifying Acamar as the original "end of the river", also strengthens the case for Acamar having been first magnitude in ancient times.

"It was already a really overwhelming, but also exhausting, week for me at my first Burning Man. Then there was this Friday night. From the moment I started playing I felt so good and watching all those tiny lights on people's bikes heading towards the bus, it looked so beautiful. After my set I had so much energy that I stayed and danced on the bus for at least 12 more hours. This was a very special experience and that bus is definitely one of the coolest things I've ever played on, and I'm more than happy that I had a little role in this whole adventure.

As long as you enter into this 48th edition you may realize a 73-minute mix that has something new and interesting to say with every track, in a nutshell: music in all its forms. It celebrates a stance which inspires other people to not look at the differences in cultures but to the things we have in common. "Trip" is one of the many tracks to come out of Daniel Bortz' studio, this time in collaboration with Sascha Sibler. Bortz, by this time, should need little introduction—last year's feature tells you pretty much all you need to know—and this cut fits comfortably within the sound aesthetic of his more recent releases. The story behind "Trip," he explains, is a simple one: it was completed in 2013 and was tipped for release; however, on consideration, Bortz and Sibler took the decision to offer it up as a free download—the first, Bortz says, of a series. There will be more to come.

We’ve listen to this track so many times that we’ve lost track of time. “Time” is an absolutely stunning track from Pachanga Boys, the duo of Rebolledo and Superpitcher. It clocks in at almost 16 minutes, but we still can’t enough of it. From their recently vinyl-only EP “Girlcatcher” on their Hippie Dance imprint.
