Hoova returns on Altar Records with a new EP named Deriwoo, where he explores new realms in ambient, downtempo, and progressive elements of music. From the eclectic landscapes of Mexico, Hoova brings his rich culture to the table with an expansive sonic palette that will definitely blow your mind.

The EP features three carefully tailored tracks offered in three different versions each and shows exactly how one can do so effectively and with a very high level of competency as a producer. Ambient mixes are designed to engage the listener into the tranquil and ethereal world in which time seems to have been slowed just a notch to savor the magnificence and detail of sound and feeling. These are great for easing into reflection or meditation, providing a tranquil refuge from the bustle of life.

In contrast, downtempo mixes keep in pace with a gentle rhythmic pulse, almost as if standing there with an inviting hand outstretched to the listener, asking them to move with him in a dance of introspection. Warm and inviting, the beats are layered with a rich tapestry of textures and melodies, each reaching out to the soul of the listener. It's in these iterations that Hoova's songwriting really pops, every note and beat threading into a story singular and universal.

The progressive mixes finish this elevation of energy by pulling the listeners into a vibrancy of sound that is both uplifting and grounding. The progressive versions witness Hoova's ability to build upon the progressive versions of testimony, wherein every track now moves through its own evolution and unfolds organically and thrillingly. It’s an interesting journey to walk this earth with the name Swami Harami. Swami Harami loosely translates to the “sinning saint” or more precisely to “the bastard that knows HimSelf”.  It is a name that points to hypocrisy that exists in judging things as holy or unholy.  It is a name that allows for the possibilities of horny and holy.  A name that steps on the path on the leading from acceptance to transcendence.

People who understand the name react to it in many different ways. Some laugh and others are offended.  Some believe that I’m calling all Swamis, Haramis while others see that I am accepting myself as both a Swami and a Harami.  Some see it as an opportunity to point fingers while others recognise it as a pre-emptive strike against the judgment that most Swami’s are subjected too.
At the Kumbh mela my female friends would respond to Sadhu requests to join their circle of disciples with the tongue in cheek reply “we are with Swami Harami”. Soon after these very friends threw a season closing party in Goa and I was randomly handed a flyer with Swami Harami name in the list of DJ’s.
That was that and the name stuck. Resistance was and is futile. What’s in a name…a lot more than I imagined.  Being called Swami Harami repeatedly, is a constant reminder to explore the seeming dualities of light and dark.  A few years of this has led me to the realization that there is no such thing as light and dark. It’s Light OR Dark. For when there is light, there is no longer dark. 
The Indian media often refuses to print the name Harami. If you see a gig listed with Swami Salami or Swami Harmony, come by, it’s gonna be fun!
Music is magic. Music and dance allow for us to transcend our thinking minds. I view Dj’ing as shamanistic activity. Nothing else I have witnessed can uplift so many, simultaneously.  The art form is about rhythm, discipline and timing, which are applicable to all aspects of ones life.  Essential to the art form is playing the right music for the moment, beyond the boundaries of genre and fables of labels.
