The Oxidized compilation series is a charity project we have been working on since the inception of The Rust Music, with Oxidized, Vol. 1 being our very first label release in February 2017. At the end of each year we select a new charity, aid organization, or non-profit, to which all proceeds from the series are donated. In the past we have donated to organizations focusing on natural disaster aid, environmental restoration and preservation, as well as civil/human rights advocates and COVID-19 relief efforts on local, national, and international levels. 2022 proceeds from the Oxidized series will be donated to support women’s rights to healthcare and access to abortion, with this year’s donation to be determined towards the end of 2023.

Across the last 6 years, we've recurrently tapped into a network of both our roster talent and our close associates across the experimental electronic music spectrum to craft our first two Oxidized compilations. Now, for the final entry in the Oxidized Trilogy, we've brought together 32 producers, songwriters, and musicians from the US, the UK, Germany and Georgia to craft 28 tracks that cross through a medley of motifs in Hip-Hop, Drum & Bass, Downtempo, and more. Rarely do the working titles of tunes end up being the final title, but this is one such case. It's intended to be onomatopoeic, but I suppose you can draw your own abstract meaning.

This one has been in the vault since late 2021, and while I am currently creating new material, I feel that sharing the contents of the vault with you all first will help crescendo towards more recent work.

The process of creating music and sharing it with the world, and people actually listening to it and engaging with it, is still such an ethereal experience for me. So grateful for what has come from this humble endeavor thus far, and excited for what is to come. Thank you for being part of the journey.

Slaycub is the all-encompassing music project of Jacob Höglind, communicating his ideas through the limitless medium of electronic music, not tethered to any one subgenre. Driven by experimentation, the goal of the project is to be an ever-expanding exploration of human expression, and to further the possibilities of sound and its vicarious messages.

What has drawn him to the psychedelic realm of music is the dichotomy of dreamy and fiery elements coexisting. An intimate love for ambient music fuses with deep fascination for sound design and world-building, the result a catalog of exquisite creations. Each Slaycub set is a journey through the full spectrum of electronic music.
