“This one was inspired by Carl Dennis, a favorite poet of mine. He has a poem called “At Home With Cézanne” that I had read the night before and really enjoyed. Again, Brad and I wrote the bulk of the music first, and then I fit lyrics to the music. I couldn’t find the text of the poem anywhere online, so here’s a picture of it – https://imgur.com/a/q5mG1A2.
