I keep having to pause this so that i can write my comment.  The emotion in your voice and the piano keys are so good . The strings , everything.  You are really very talented . To do this with all the elements and the recording etc mastering . Its not easy but you make it sound easy . 🧡👌👏🦏🍊

Fractured Time

Sometimes, a song enters your consciousness and will not go away. Life has been a hectic buzz for the last two months, and on one of my rare free evenings, I sat down to watch a movie. Spectre.
Of course, I'd heard the Sam Smith song for the movie before, but for some reason, this time, listening to the song, the piano notes that run under the verse caught in my mind. 

Dum, dah, dah... Dum, dah, dah "I've been here before" ...

Next thing I know, I'm in my little studio learning the piano parts of the song. 

Coming from Sam Smith, who can hit outrageously high notes, I wasn't sure if I could do the song justice vocally, but I had to get this ear worm out of my brain. 

I have friends waiting for collaboration work from me, but I HAD to get this song out of my brain first... sometimes that's just how it goes. Sorry, guys, I will get to our projects, I promise.

I'd planned to do a piano and vocal version only, but no, I started looking at the strings.
If only I had access to Thomas Newman's talent for arranging and, indeed, access to an actual orchestra and a professional recording studio.

So, for my sins, here is my version of Sam Smith's Writing's on The Wall. Fully notated and orchestrated, track by track by myself in my little bedroom studio. 

I hope it's at least worth one listen.
