Lay It On Me is a single written by Swarathma and the Lebanese blues-rockers The Wanton Bishops. Shot and recorded in the by-lanes of Kolkata, is a reflection of the unique musical styles that unite the two distinctly vibrant cultures. The eclectic number combines elements of both traditional and modern sound – The Wanton Bishops’ signature blues is complemented by the Indian folk tunes of Swarathma.

'Pyaasi' is from Swarathma's debut album released on EMI Virgin India in Jan 2009. This version features the inimitable Shubha Mudgal, special guest on vocals. The song tells the story of a river, whose waters have been disputed for years. The song was featured in a music video by Global Water Challenge to highlight water woes that the world faces.

Swarathma - Rishton ka Raasta

This is a song that celebrates youth, and the power of being young, in your heart and mind. The words "Naane Daari" are Kannada for "I am my way".

Translation:

In the dark cave that is my being, I find the light

Swarathma - Naane Daari

Yeshu, Allah aur Krishna was originally released as part of Soundpad, a British Council Initiative showcasing up and coming Indian bands. It is a view of the world today, seen through the eyes of 14th century mystic poet Kabir, who sang of religious harmony. His messages find resonance today, more than at any time in the past.

Swarathma's vocalist/guitarist Vasu Dixit was a panelist at Lekhana 2013, a Literary Festival held at Jagriti Theatre in Whitefield, Bangalore. He joined ace musicians and songwriters Bruce Lee Mani, Radha Thomas and Poornachandra Tejaswi on a discussion on "Do Words and Popular Music Get Along?" In this clip, he speaks of his experience. The fun part: he played two songs live!
