We made this mix to give out to friends and family on a road trip to LA in June 2009 as guests at DAM FUNK's FUNKMOSPHERE party. Not many were pressed up...and the few remaining copies were given to the party people that get down with us every Sunday night in the basement of LI PO in Chinatown's SF. Lots of classic SWEATER FUNK cuts on here… from modern soul, boogie funk, rare and medium rare joints. Big up to E DA BOSS for letting the crew record in his studio. Berlin's disco wizard @Delfonic is an incredible talent. Having just released his second EP of edits for Colombia's ace Nómada Records, we spoke to him in depth about the EP, Berlin, working with Nómada and his favourite year in disco 1977. 

He's a DJ who always lays down spellbinding sets, a product of some seriously impressive musical knowledge, and having already delivered one sublime mix for Le Visiteur we are very pleased to have tempted him back behind the decks for us this time delivering a worship mix for that most fabled of disco years 1977.

I got this copy from a Japanese friend back in 2001'. I'm blessed to have this sound time capsule from thee legendary club, DJ & clientele... I'm sure you'll dig this too... in spite not thee greatest recording, yet nice and raw.

The Think series continues with a tribute to the queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin RIP. Aretha Louise Franklin (March 25, 1942 – August 16, 2018). Franklin has won a total of 18 Grammy Awards and is one of the best-selling musical artists of all time, having sold over 75 million records worldwide.Franklin has been honored throughout her career including a 1987 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, in which she became the first female performer to be inducted.
