Reuniting as a trifecta, J A returns to Rubber with a three-pronged EP. This time, Andrea Noce and Jonida Prifti are joined by Donato Dozzy—the Italian maestro of minimal techno, who threads liquid geometry into the pair’s vocal acrobatics.

Like a silver fog descending, ‘Eclisse Indolente’ opens. Not quite ambient—with field recording-esque emanations filling the backdrop—the spoken lyrics are moonlit incantations, spells for a mid-winter ritual. ‘Era Vitale’ showcases Dozzy’s hypnotic latticework in full effect, the operatic accompaniment gliding over a twitching beat. For the titular track—its thundering power a homage to the sound system—blasts of cold bass interject at intervals; a muted post-dub tirade, narrated by fractured, echoing whispers.

Building on their previous album for the imprint, enter ja, which leaned more instrumentally maximalist, this incarnation shifts to subtle, mesmerising sonics that let the lyrical prowess surge forth. A testament to the mystical nature of the voice, Sorella di Confine is pagan-folk for the club; a lunar chant, an ebony hymn.

The record serves as a sister release to Prifti’s eponymous poetry collection, published in 2024 by Marco Saya Edizioni. An extract from the collection’s afterword appears on the back sleeve, penned by the renowned lyricist, playwright, poet, and novelist Pasquale Panella.

Cult icon Bill Converse trots back to Dark Entries with Trust. Converse has honed his craft since the early days of the Midwest rave scene, absorbing lessons from luminaries like Claude Young and Traxx. His skill as a producer has been cemented with releases on labels like Dark Entries, Fit Sound, and Obsolete Futures, and his prowess as a DJ has been witnessed on floors worldwide. In recent years, Converse has also pushed audiences to their lysergic limits with his sinewy and kinetic live sets, which pair classic analog boxes like the Roland TB-303 with cutting-edge modular synthesis techniques. The 7 tracks on Trust pick up the wild energy of these live hardware explorations, channeling the splayed beats of Chicago’s Relief Records, the acidic grit of Midwest techno like Woody McBride’s Communique Records, and the hypnagogic hooks of Artificial Intelligence-era IDM. According to Converse, the abrupt changes and off-kilter rhythms are “an effort to facilitate or express trust-making in the listening experience. I want some degree of give and take with the listener.” This process makes Converse’s sound truly singular, the kind of aural landscape that can only be conjured through a lifetime of crate-digging and analog abuse - just check out the untenable funk of “Live Track” or the otherworldly groove of “Romance.” Trust comes in a sleeve featuring artwork from Sonya Rapaport from 1986 featuring images generated with an MS-DOS computer. Converse says “I think there's also a muscle-to-love vibe with this one.” We can trust him.

ONEGIN is an alter-ego of architect and artist Karolis Lasys. Through ONEGIN Karolis conducts sonic etnography of what’s happening in the dark. Soundwise, mixes and music coming from this project is a blend of industrial with hyper- and/or post- genres and a heavy dose of spoken-word (reaching for screamo at times) in a live context. The goal of this very fluent blending of influences is a high degree of experimentation, synthesis and, most importantly, storytelling through sound. Under ONEGIN, Karolis has performed all over the Baltics (and beyond), recently representing Lithuania’s electronic music scene in Tallinn Music Week and is a freshly-minted resident of Lizdas Sound Institute. For 2025 there are three releases in the works: “Stigmergia” EP to be released by Berliners “Re:natura”, “Television” LP set for release by Bristol’s “TUTAMEN" and a full length album “Fear of Tomorrow’s Sun”. In this set ONEGIN wanted to touch the light, the fragile and the emotional side of dance music, culminating in an hour long journey to an elating climax of energy.
