In Chloe’s own words, “this set is filled with some artists I discovered during the lockdown and played a lot throughout last fall and winter. There are a lot of processed stringed instruments throughout this mix that I love as well, especially since I use so many strings as textures in my own productions.’’ @chlo-lula

Our fragment series continues. This month's story is told by Phases.

From Vilnius, Lithuania, Marijona's relation with rave culture and electronic music started a couple of years ago. Inspired by nature, he always tries to create a proper atmosphere for his hypnotic journeys.  

‘’ I like to wander in the forests that surround my place and watch how its changes through the seasons. Autumn usually slows down the pace of life that lets to dive into a kinda melancholic meditative state. This selection reflects the trippy walk in the foggy woods: it’s slow, deep and mysterious... you never know what is hiding behind the next tree ‘’

The White EP was created in Bill Drummond's kitchen, the place where all this started, and the one his wife liked to remind him could've been refitted if he hadn’t burnt the million pounds.

Reaching into the past where everything seemed possible, play has now been replaced by art. We channelled pure Sheffield electronics via the beats and visuals of early Psalter Lane Art College gigs, the walls echoing to the Human League, Cabaret Voltaire and Vice Versa. Deep inside the hall, this would be the pebble that cast a thousand ripples into the future.

Rituals at the site were carried out by Frater Nostra & Brother Oakey to the incantation of:

"Swift on the dead from thine all-seeing steep - And the unutterable word be spoken."

Welcome to the 49th Ambient Sessions presented by Deep Electronics.
This monthly released podcast brings you the best and the most diversity Ambient music can offer.
It's the first sunday of October and that means a brand new session! This month Deepbass created his session for this month! So enjoy!

Bio:

Whether doused in the grit of his hometown Glasgow, or expanded 
by the widescreen vistas of his current base, Barcelona, the music of 
Darren Roberts has asserted it´s uniqueness within his preferred form 
of expression, rolling and tunneling techno, strong on propulsion and 
atmosphere. 
Naming the project Deepbass was a strong statement of intent and 
commitment to a sound of his own, from the start. That he has in fact 
established it and remains on a path of constant perfection of it, is 
indicative of Darren´s personality and talent.
This consistent path has seen Deepbass put out records on labels such
as Edit Select Records, Aconito Records, Dynamic Refection and 
Soma, all the while enjoying a steady rise in recognition both with 
audience and peers. Along the way, he found in Italian producer 
Andrea Deplano, most widely known as Ness, a perfect foil for his 
vision of techno, with both collaborating on releases which displayed 
uncanny compatibility in sound between them. This commitment to 
the deeper, hypnotic side of techno is further proved by his own label,
Informa Records, where releases by names like Reggy Van Oers, 
nAX_Acid, Claudio PRC, Takaaki Itoh, Ness, NX1, Hironori Takahashi 
are constant highlights for those who crave expansive and engrossing 
soundscapes.
What stands out from his production and performances is that 
Deepbass creates something identifably his own, but refuses to ever 
be limited by it or to get comfortable repeating just one thing. Instead,
he takes what´s already his own and streamlines it, sharpens it and 
nuances it. The origin and destination might be constant, but the path 
it takes and how the journey feels is ever-changing.

About the mix:

This mix is a collection of some of the stuff I like to listen to at home. Chilled music ranging between ambient, electronica and techno sounds. Music for deep moments.

Ambient Sessions # 49 - Deepbass

When they aren't busy behind the decks of our favorite NY venues, Lychee curates the Spontaneous Affinity interview and podcast series, which recently celebrated the release of its first print publication and co-hosted our latest event with Evigt Mörker and Takaaki Itoh. 

Our good friend and frequent collaborator, they continue to play a large part in helping Sure Thing feel newly at home on the east coast, and many of you who have seen Lychee play can also attest to their ability to work a dance floor into a frenzy. Olorun's project aims to explore different moods of purity and sweetness in music. Through the investigation of texture and the attention on natural landscape, this music examine different aspect of communion with nature. Mostly the variety of tropical's fauna and flora is introduced to the project.

This mix slowly introduce you into a rite of exotic music. The contemplation aspect is brought by humans imprint just like a mantra. Every step of the mix are developing a complex atmosphere of natural elements.

Olorun 의 프로젝트는 음악의 순수함과 달콤함의 다른 분위기를 탐구하고자 한다. 자연의 풍경에 대한 집중과 조사를 통해, 이 음악은 자연과의 교감에 대한 다른 측면을 탐구한다. 주로 열대의 동물과 식물이 프로젝트에 소개된다.

이 믹스는 이국적인 음악에 당신을 천천히 초대한다. 명상적 측면은 마치 만트라처럼 인간에 의해 발현된다. 믹스의 매 단계는 자연의 요소에 대한 복잡한 자장을 구축한다.
