In March of this year we saw Jimpster’s Porchlight And Rocking Chairs LP fall on expectant and eager ears, winning praise from the likes of RA, DJ Mag and Groove as well as plays and support from a host of the worlds best radio and club DJ’s. With the majority of the LP being more home listening than club-focused we decided to call in some of our favorite producers to rework a track of their choice for the dance-floors and here we present you the first part of the amazing results.

KiNK needs little introduction of course, except to say that his live set as well as his hands on hardware approach in the studio has seen him become established as one of the most exciting producers of the last couple of years. When he agreed to remix Porchlight And Rocking Chairs (a track he incidentally referred to as his favorite of the year!) we couldn’t have been happier and knew that something very special would come from it. When he got in touch to say he’d done a version but explained it was done live in one take with all the parts being tweaked in real time making it very hard to change anything we were even more intrigued and excited. As expected, what he delivered is an intense, high energy reworking full of piercing high’s and rattling lows, keeping the original chords and many of the keyboard lines in place but injecting a raw drive and improvised feel which has already seen it become a highlight of Jimpster sets this summer.

Andre Lodemann provides the perfect antidote to KiNK’s frenetic version in the form of his Towards The Seer Remix, going for a tight, emotive, late night groove which develops slowly, teasing out the arrangement and keeping things sublime and understated. Subtle bass twists and dubbed out FX build to the extended break where we’re introduced to the original’s acoustic bass riff in all it’s glory. Another brilliant Andre Lodemann production.

Patrick Müller better known as Patlac is a German producer that’s been at the forefront of the underground house scene Northern Germany’s Hamburg for quite some time, initially coming to light
alongside the likes of Nick Curly, Matthias Meyer and the Liebe Detail imprint.

 Here we see him return to Mexico’s Akbal Music, a label home to material from the likes of Kiki, Sasse, Fabio Gianelli
and Balcazar & Sordo.

Patlac’s original mix of ‘Novoum’ a slow burning, floaty cut fuelled by airy atmospherics and hooky
square wave bass hits alongside tension building strings and Müller’s signature ensnaring percussiveled
style.

Following is a remix from Galaktika’s Cosmic Cowboys who stick a darker edge on things with their take,
bringing robust rhythms to the forefront alongside bulbous sub hits, while allowing the eerie atmospherics to snake around them. 

Lastly to close the package Timelapse turn in their interpretation of ‘Novoum’ and the Connaissuer duo deliver a warmly entrancing version with soft chord pads, crunchy percussion and gradually blossoming electronica synth hooks.

Patlac’s ‘Novoum’ EP is out on Akbal Music- 23rd November.

Pete Oak, who can't stop making new tracks and can't help but making the dance floor shake, does not change the rule with his new remix for Ariose. The rythmic gives the tone followed by tortured synths, a fat bassline, all this surrounded with an atmosphere more house than usual. This is beautiful and confirms us Pete is moving to the next level. We hope nothing will stop him !! It will be released on Aftertech on 8th December and it's found to make some noise ! The enigmatic Solstice brings us his “Yelrih One” EP, a four­tracker comprised of the eponymous namesake and three interpretations by a handful of keen peers. The original ‘Fall’ is the French producer at his deepest and most characteristic: a slow burner that’s pure atmosphere and haunting vocals courtesy of Lea Luxanima. Juan then swoops in to turn up the echo, giving us an even more cinematic version before Anton Dhouran strips things back to focus on Lea’s voice and accompanying keys. This one begs for a sunrise session near a body of water, though it’s Ivory Mantra’s final remix that has all the trappings of a dance floor igniter.
