Since last summer’s fantastic L’Egoisme EP, Valencia-based DJ/producer Upercent has appeared on several different mix compilations and did a remix for Paris’s Timid Boy. Now AMAM invites him back for his official follow-up, the Keka EP, showing the breadth of styles he can wring out of tech-house fabric.

“Keka” shows Upercent’s dexterity for both juxtaposition of sounds and spatiality: the straightforward organ blips provide repetition for the freewheeling piano amongst the 3-D printed percussion, and there’s even an extraterrestrial wah-wah solo halfway through, just after we hear the musings of some old French man. “Eterna Tú” has a more severe agenda, more galvanized in its dancefloor ambitions as the synths weave through the hissing beat – this number bends things more into an electro direction. “Gota de Luz” is the funkiest excursion here, with earthy rhythmic clattering punctuating the whirrs of ambience on top.

Of course Upercent’s sonic world always lends itself well to reinterpretation. That’s why he let some comrades put their own spin on a couple tracks: fellow Spaniard and AMAM labelmate Javier Orduña honors the idosynchracy of “Keka”, but takes it for a spacey, cosmic ride. Finally, German produer Patrick Zigon takes a double-time approach and gives “Gota de Luz” a full-on maniacal techno makeover.

„Alle Tanzen“ das ist das Motto der Brüder Tober & Tober aus Hannover. Simon und Marvin sind nun schon seit mehr als 5 Jahren als Gebrüder-Duo hinter dem DJ-Pult unterwegs. Mit ihrer Party-Reihe „Alle Tanzen“ mischen sie Hildesheim elektronisch ganz schön auf. Musikalisch kann man die Beiden auf jeden Fall nicht in eine Schublade stecken. Mal sind es die ruhigen Downtempo Töne wie beim Podcast für Afterhour Sounds und dann auch mal schön verspulter Techno. Für mich haben sie sich entschieden eine techige, stimmenlastige und extrem groovige Stunde zu kreieren.

Pure FM #16 - Clair De Lune Records - Kraak & Smaak

German duo andhim give new life to their track ‘Tosch’ by releasing a four track remix pack, tapping fellow countryman Roman Flügel to offer his unique approach.

Transforming the original tune, Flügel pitches the vocal hook deeper and highlights the rolling bass melody, flipping the original with a somewhat retro synth-wave motif. The steady beat lies at the heart of the production, but the euphoric tones lift the track to a blissful state.

Having been andhim’s debut record on their freshly minted Superfriends label, the duo have paid special attention to delivering a stacked collection of remixes. Also on the release is seasoned veteran Acidi Pauli, up and coming Zurich based DJ and producer Jimi Jules and German duo Manuel Tur and Adrian Hoffman under their Clavis alias.

Ritter Butzke Club, based in the heart of Berlin-Kreuzberg, celebrates its 8th anniversary. What once started as an illegal rave, is now established on the regular club scene. After all these years, it still maintains the charm of an ‘unfinished’ living room. “8 Years Lost” is a sound document created by resident DJs and friends to represent the vibe of the place and to share it with their listeners.

The release comes with 14 tracks from Nicone`, Koletzki & Schwind, Klangkuenstler or Tigerskin, well mixed with tracks from the residents like: Baal, DJ Aroma or Prismode & Solvane plus some nice goodies from close friends who are also regulars in the venue such as: HRRSN, Kotlett & Zadak or Dapayk Solo. Markus Klee contributed a DJ Mix to the digital edition of the release.
