microCastle’s first offering of 2023 welcomes Presia to the label for his debut EP. Burgeoning French talent Presia has carved out a unique sonic identity in the world of electronic music and indie dance, resulting in a string of uniquely crafted records that present a resonant worldly sound. Hailing from the Alpine town of Annecy, Presia’s musical palate takes reference from a legion of genres across the industry’s vast spectrum; creating an authentic voice that is discernibly his own. 2022 proved to be a breakout year for the French talent, with a contribution to Isolate’s ‘Mutations’ collection preceding a five-track showcase for the Turkish imprint in July. Support from industry tastemakers soon followed as did an EP for Avidus’ Empore Music to end the year. Now, for his first project of 2023, Presia makes his microCastle debut with a four-track showcase entitled ‘First Time’.

EP opener ‘Brizz’ immediately captivates with its rubbery rhythms, glossy melodies and prismatic haze. Colours blur together as the springy bass and gauzy synths propel forward into a tastefully twisted interlude, one where fuzz and distortion unite, as the groove erupts alongside a furious march of metallic arps. The space-dance foray ‘The Path’ follows and further cements Presia’s dancefloor minded ethos. A collection of recalibrated sonics and emotionally resonant hooks highlight a retro-tinged, acid-laced first movement, perfectly whetting the appetite for a break of flickering sonics and granular flares.

Beneath the hypnagogic waves of ‘The Path’ lies the starry guitars and neo-saccharine drive of ‘Cash’. A cohesive fusion of indie and melodic themes, anchored by rocketing beats and percussive rides, tastefully building to a wild-eyed intensity of woozy guitars and soaring synths. Its soulful pulse proves to be the perfect prelude for the collection's final and title selection, the summery set closing record 'First Time'. Building with a subdued pulse, its wonky disorienting lead quickly catches hold of you, flowing through an exchange of free-form effects, as plucky stabs and pneumatic tones transfer energy into a finale of speaker-buzzing revelry.

Presia - Cash [Preview]

microCastle's second offering of 2023 welcomes Ivory back to the label for his third producer showcase. Based in Milan, Italian artist Daniel Tagliaferri aka Ivory has been at the cutting edge of electronic music for the better part of a decade. Comparable to the path of his contemporaries, Daniel has found a way to create a personal universe by exploring electronic sounds, and ultimately finding his own place in the trend-driven state of underground dance music. Fully formed within the creative confines of his Milan studio, Ivory's third microCastle project 'Persona', follows on from 2021's 'Light Through Water', a seven-track affair which continued Daniel's mission to create bold synthesizer symphonies from the tools of the club. As an evolution in his sound, the release was significantly more stripped-down and dancefloor-friendly than his label debut 'No Scale Can Resize You' yet continued to demonstrate and build on the Italian's penchant for sophisticated sound design and memorable musical themes. Moving forward, 2022 proved to be a monumental year for Ivory, with the release of his debut album 'Feelin' sitting as the highlight, a release which was preceded by the immaculate EP project 'Rain'. The year also saw the Milan resident gain further recognition as a DJ, as he continued to exhibit fresh programming along with thrilling pace and flow, in turn becoming an in-demand presence at major clubs and events throughout the world. Now, following a string of impressive remixes to begin 2023, Ivory makes a welcome return to microCastle with 'Persona'.

Ivory - Departures [Preview]

Maicol MP was born in 1991 in the province of Treviso. During his childhood he performed many activities in the field of music, including the study of the piano and the Sound Technician. At age 16 he finally discovered the music in which he recognized himself the most and, simultaneously, he began to hang out at the Clubs: these facts make his musical passion always lead him to improve and refine himself, expressing himself as an artist around in the clubs, growing and evolving in this profession. His trips to Berlin and in the capitals of Europe were fundamental and essential for his transition to the genre and style that he still proposes and which distinguishes him. He has a clear idea of what he wants to express, he knows well what must represent and the continuous music selection: know being an innovator, so he is always searching to bring new lymph.

German DJ and producer Swen Vershoven comes to the Polyptych. A fan of soft-sounding and sensual melodies from the beginning, Swen has been promoting it before this time ever since through releases on labels such as Freegrant Music, Natura Viva, Monkey League, and more. This time he debuts us with his new release "Echoes from the Dark".
