Plaisirs Sonores Records, the Montreal-based label founded by Hicky & Kalo, is thrilled to announce its monumental 50th release. 

To mark this significant milestone, the label presents two exceptional remixes of previously released tracks by the label founders. 

Karmon, the prodigious talent associated with Diynamic, emerges from a three-year hiatus to bestow an illustrious remix upon the timeless 'Time We Spent Together.' In his signature style, Karmon crafts a masterpiece that is destined to become an instant classic, honoring the melody of Hicky & Kalo. 

Makebo, known for his distinctive blend of organic and progressive elements, takes the reins on 'Luminous Path,' infusing the original track with his unique touch. Already championed by industry luminaries such as Lee Burridge, Hernan Cattaneo, Amonita, and M.O.S., Makebo's remix is set to captivate both old and new audiences. 

Label founders Hicky & Kalo express their gratitude for the journey so far: "Reaching our 50th release is a momentous occasion. We are honored to have Karmon and Makebo contribute their exceptional talents to remix our tracks. This milestone is a celebration of the incredible artists who have been part of our journey. Ever since its official release back in 2016, 'Far Away' has grown to be a signature tune for Juliane Wolf. Until this day the song is getting a lot of love and support from all around the globe. It has racked up well over 200k plays on Spotify and 150k plays on YouTube so far which is rather impressive for an underground tune, especially considering it was released at a time before music streaming became the industry standard.

Now fast forward to 2024. Loads of things have changed, Juliane Wolf has became a household name by now, but one thing hasn't changed and that is her ability to make beautiful music. We felt the timing was right to revisit this song from the early days of her career and give it a fresh touch. Not only by Juliane herself, but also by none less than MPathy and Kenan Savrun!

“The Establishment” EP features three distinct tracks: the original mix, a TJ Lawton Remix, and a Mosh Remix, each offering a unique experience. The original mix showcases the synergy between Hasan Ghazi’s signature groovy basslines and ethereal vocal reverb effects, and Heatscore’s melodic prowess. Together, they’ve crafted a powerful, emotionally charged track that promises to take listeners on a mesmerizing afterhours journey. The haunting female vocals that resonate throughout the track, alongside Jim Morrison’s wisdom-infused breakdowns, create an unforgettable experience that’s as moving as it is dance-floor ready.

UK’s own TJ Lawton brings his unique melodic techno twist to the EP with a remix that dives into the deeper, more hypnotic realms of electronic music. His shadowy, yet enchanting sound is a perfect match for late-night sets, adding a layer of afterhours energy to the mix.

Mosh, a Pakistani DJ and producer currently based in the UK and one half of the renowned Fake Shamans, contributes a remix that blends deep house with techno elements. Astral Records continues to showcase new and exciting talent by welcoming I.AM to the label for his debut single. Amit Maimon aka I.AM entered the world of melodic house and techno as a DJ first, channeling languages of varied musical landscapes into his sets, and churning them into his own complex rollercoaster of intricate melodic techno. Gigs at some of his country's trendiest venues such as The Maze, have already made I.AM a name to watch as he now makes his production debut with ‘Falling To Pieces', alongside remixes from Paul Anthonee, Omar Khalifa & Turako.

I.AM's production debut ‘Falling To Pieces' lands with the studio touch of an established veteran, in turn finding a perfect balance between emotive vocal phrasing and club-effective grooves. Cosmic and poignant in equal measure, it's a foundation of punchy kick drums and pulsating bass lines which set the stage for symphonic synth phrasing and heartfelt vocals to steal the air. The break only furthers its dancefloor appeal with a grandiose build and powerful drop driven by heartfelt overlays and further sonic mutations.

The first interpretation of 'Falling To Pieces' is provided by label A&R Paul Anthonee. In addition to being a core part of the Astral family, Paul has achieved global recognition for his far-reaching sound. Tale Of Us, Maceo Plex, Carl Cox, Innellea, Fideles, Kevin De Vries and more have praised his work, while Running Clouds, Steyoyoke, Parquet and UV Noir have been landing spots for his sought-after tracks. In recent years Paul has chosen to primarily focus on Astral as his production home, while also adding Rafael Cerato's Ritual imprint to his resume. Now, following a remix of ‘The Arrival' by Far From Home & Retoric to begin the year, Paul returns to Astral with a huge rendition of ‘Falling To Pieces'. Opting for a more refined take on the track, the Cyprus resident conveys the mood from the original beautifully, for a slightly less vocally dominant, yet equally emotive and dramatic version that's driven by phasing chord stabs and thunderous grooves, making it perfect for the more astute dancefloors out there.

The release concludes with Omar Khalifa & Turako making their label debut with the second and final interpretation of ‘Falling To Pieces'. Upon forming a production partnership in 2023 Omar and Turako have become a duo to watch within the world of melodic house and techno. A well received remix of ‘Dive Into Your Fear' Freemann (IT) for Melodic Room would lead to a first EP project for the label to begin 2024. Now, fresh off a contribution to New Tab's popular ‘Opera' series, Omar Khalifa & Turako make their Astral debut with a darker rendition of ‘Falling To Pieces'. While maintaining the spirit of the original, Omar and Turako aim squarely at a peak hour dancefloor with a sweeping sonic experience all their own, utilizing the vocal sparingly, while adding their own unique array of darker monochromes and trance-inducing synths for an exhilarating experience to round out the release on a high note.

PREMIERE : I.AM - Falling to Pieces [Astral Records]

Korean producer Soolee's second full-length album, Void Time Axis, is a mix of arrangements designed for effective repetition and change, polyrhythmic grooves composed of various rhythms in parallel, earworm synths, and deeply refined ambient sounds.

The eight tracks are represented by letters with different meanings. 시(Si) 始 Start, 대(Dae) 對 Treat, 감(Gam) 堪 Endure, 정(Jung) 正 Right, 류(Ryu) 流 Flow, 인(Inn) 忍 Patience, 극(Geuk) 極 Extreme, 공(Gong) 空 Void. And these letters are arranged to form a story.

Void Time Axis, completed as a single image by removing the time axis from the entire story, is an album of original sound expressed with the identity of a Korean techno producer.
