Undoubtedly one of the biggest anthem of Tulum this season, one of the most awaited tracks in the scene is finally here! Multi-instrumentalist DJ/Producer Joone teams up with Brazilian DJ Victor C. and British Singer/Songwriter 1403 creating a true Indie Dance E.P.

The Affair, twisted by temptation, poisoned by realities, a scourge of pain in tandem. 1403 freefalls with the menacing bass, pacing like a stalker, desperate for a glimpse. Escaping with a shot, the synth melodies swirl like a strong whiskey hit.

Marcus Worgull Remix strips the track to tinkling glasses by the velvet lounge where a sophisticated mystery woman grabs his face in her hands, before taking him down and throwing him out onto the street, his shirt half buttoned. Sobek Remix pushes us back to the dance floor with a dusty padded kick, that thumping bass, and pulls 1403 vocals from a hat to drive the dark truth of how The Affair ended.

Distance. Running past brambles and headstones, 1403 is taunted by the woman driving him to wild indecency. Sparse serious percussion, live bass and winding analog synths punctuate memories, far out of reach. Wrangled by the arpeggiators in the 5 AM mix, 1403 can’t help himself.

Having released the acclaimed ​Be Mine on Crosstown Rebels in 2017, Berlin-based Siopis lands on Rebellion with ​Unconditional​, a poignant two-tracker that features the vocals of esteemed DnB lyricist, MC Coppa.

“An interview with Lauryn Hill inspired me to make this release. It blew me away and I felt it straight in my heart, so I wanted to share the deep message that comes from it. I put her vocals into the break of the lead track, and Unconditionalwasborn.”S​iopis​.

Beginning with the ethereal sounds of ​Unconditional​, the lead track is a journey into electronic music’s spiritual realm, as supple keys vibrate alongside a gently moving bassline. A sample from Lauryn Hill’s iconic speech acts as the breakdown, before the emotive bassline comes back in to pull deeply on our heartstrings. ​Kaleidoscope feat. MC Coppa ​completes the release. Bubbling with subtle hats and dreamy pads, the moving cut takes on a tougher edge with MC Coppa’s stirring monologue, whilst Siopis’ flagship club-ready sound features right the way through to form a track that sounds perfect at home, and on the dancefloor.

A prolific producer, ​Siopis ​has been carving out a career in electronic music for more than a decade. Previously known under his Silversurfer moniker, he is responsible for some of Crosstown Rebels’ earliest releases, producing 2004’s ​Parisis ​and collaborating with Kiki on the seminal ​Shake Off that same year. Fast-forward to more recent times where continued releases on Damian Lazarus’ Crosstown Rebels and M.A.N.D.Y’s Get Physical Music have helped define his emotional, dance-oriented sound, whilst frequent performances at clubbing institutions such as Hoppetosse and Golden Gate have established him as a regular on the Berlin circuit. With international sets under his belt at the likes of Miami’s Ocean’s Ten and Mexico’s Americana Club Social, the future continues to shine bright for Siopis.

Siopis - Unconditional

'Scatcity are renowned for producing serious melodic collections and their tenth release certainly doesn’t disappoint as Spanish producer Yamil offers up his Woodhouse EP. Label head Skatman also makes an appearance alongside Ivory, both of which on remix duty.

The title track welcomes you in, carried by deep rumbling drums than roll along as foundations to warming pad swells and echoing toplines. ‘Running Over Me’ follows, lowering the tempo with an ethereal vocal that grips you from the off, building as a concoction of stunning synths and marching percussion.

Skatman offers up a darker take with dominating reverb soaked synths darting over a pulsating bed of kicks and bass. Ivory then closes the show with rich chords jittering around a more minimalistic vocal offering.'
