Premiere: DAVI 'The Bay 6' (pt. 1)

'Ghenwa Nemnom is a Lebanese musician who blends her classically trained musicianship with electronic sounds to create organic house tracks that have been released on labels such as YION, Melody of the Soul, Café De Anatolia and Alt Orient.

Her latest release is also the launch of her own record label Astarte and along with her cinematic original track, it also features a remix by Chris Zippel who is known for his uplifting style of melodic house.

Chris Zippel is a Berlin born producer who also spends a lot of time in Ibiza. He is a respected studio producer whose worked with everyone from the Pet Shop Boys to Steve Lawler and featured on a diverse range of labels including Mango Alley, Embassy One and Tresor.

The original mix of "Story of a Battle" is a majestic electronica track that blends traditional oriental instruments with an electronic section, introducing a throbbing synth bass and sequenced percussion. The track tells a dramatic story of life battles, and precisely, the biggest one of them all, the battle with ourselves, the battle within.

Chris Zippel transforms Story of a Battle with a percussive remix that layers the original's orchestral elements with electronic beats and captivating synths. Adding uplifting pads and his own spine-tingling melodies, he captures the emotion of the original. Lifting things up a gear after the main breakdown, his rework has a smouldering heat that's perfect for the dance floor.'

Space and time both play a role in pølaroit’s music.
A felt connection to Jonas and Marius’ hometowns
in Northern Germany, their geography, as well as a
sense of pertaining to a specific instant in time, a
generation, are both expressed in the duo’s strain
of melodic deep house, “We see our music as a
snapshot of time and music,” they say. The chosen
name for the duo, pølaroit, is a reference to this
idea of capturing a moment and it tributes both
their northern roots (Polar) as well as the birthplace
of techno (Detroit).

Jonas and Marius, both in their mid-twenties, grew
up near Hanover - yet it was only in 2018 that they
crossed paths for the first time. Prior to that, Jonas
had been developing his own work as a pianist,
influenced by neo-classical artists such as Nils
Frahm and Olafur Arnalds as well as scoring pieces
for film and advertisement. Marius on the other
hand, who had been playing the drums since a
young boy, started his musical path at sixteen
deeply influenced by his interest in percussion and
the urban electronic music scene of the time. 

When both met at a Christmas market in Hanover, after
one too many cups of glühwein, they set a studio
date just for fun. From that first day it became
immediately clear to both that Jonas’ melancholic
piano melodies weaved themselves seamlessly to
Marius buoyant beats, and that there was more
than just “fun” happening in the alchemy of their
sounds, “after a few hours only, the first draft of our
track Firøye was born and we recognized that we
worked pretty well together,” says pølaroit.

Since, the duo made their debut on Cercle with HALO, the compilation of Cercle Story, Chapter Two.

After the success of 'A Man Said' and 'Way To The Other World', French producer Florian Gasperini @florian-gasp returns to univack with 'Les Voies des Fleuves Indiens', an EP with two originals plus a remix by one of the most important artists on the Organic House scene at the moment, Polish Greg Ochman @gregochman .

The two originals composed by Florian Gasperini are an example of the most emotional and deep style of this producer, full of warm and melancholy harmonies, sinuous chords, sweet vocals, and tribal elements.

Greg Ochman makes his mastery of the music evident, and his skills to accompany it with a lot of melodic and percusive elements. His version of  'Les Voies des Fleuves Indiens' is perfect to dance it at sunset... just wonderful!

After releasing his last EP on Sapiens as part of Agoria's successful REGENERATION DAY in May 2020, Mooglie is now back with another stunning four-tracker entitled 'Aaliyah'. That last effort, The 'Prelude' EP, amassed more than a million streams on Spotify and was even supported by Austin Kramer who pitched him as the cover of the 'Friday Cratediggers' playlist.

Mooglie is a Parisian electronic music composer who draws on jazz, pop-rock, new wave and Italo disco. He is a formally trained guitarist and bassist with a real musical diversity. He manages to combine the organic with the synthetic in hugely emotional ways and does that once again here.

Opener 'Aaliyah' is a scintillating track with melodies that soar to the heavens while sleek drums make for a slick groove down low. It's an all consuming track that sweeps you off your feet and 'Illusion Of Us' then offers a more stripped back but just as emotional resonant vibe. The bass strokes are broad and melancholic, and the pained vocals up top have a nagging sense of loss that really stays with you.

'We All Out' is another stunning track that brings more crystal clear vocals to a taught electronic beat that is awash with deft synths and glowing pads. It's music that really brims with style and last cut 'Aludra' showcases another style, this time with sombre bass and more subtle synths making for an intimate and pensive mood.
