With Visited by Strangers, Pablo Betas returns to the melodic roots of his musical practice as Bungalovv. The release's introspective, even tender, sound marks a shift away from the aggression of his previous work, while retaining the cinematic flair and painterly texture that have become trademarks of the Argentinian musician's sound.

Composed during the pandemic, Visited by Strangers is nevertheless decidedly collegial, with four of its seven tracks being (remote) collaborations with other artists. Notably, it includes Bungalovv's first-ever tracks to feature guest vocalists, and the release is also strewn with field recordings sent from a friend who was under lockdown on an Argentinian peninsula.

These conditions mean that Visited by Strangers is charged with the tension between strangeness and familiarity, or intimacy and distance. As song titles such as "Sharing Spells" and "Last Videocall" suggest, the tracks here evoke a world where human connection is mediated in fragile and fleeting, yet beautiful, ways.

444theGod is a DJ and music producer from China. Though known for his high-energy club edits and remixes, he shows a completely different side with his album El Poema Inacabado. This album of "unfinished poetry" uses soft piano and synthesizers to create a delicate and introspective atmosphere, pierced through with white noise samples and coarse drones and that pull the listener into a shadowy dream. Inspired by IDM, ambient, and deconstructed club, El Poema Inacabado seeks to transform individual experiences—solitary nights spent in clubs, recording studios, and college dorms—into universal resonance.

∴ "Diegesis" is an album about being a character in the dream of the universal mind. A soundtrack to the ever-unfolding story machine that is reality. De-contextualized voices sing archetypal melodies over vivid ambient textures. Shifting layers of time-stretched samples are held together by dubbed-out drums. A mood of melancholic bliss and ambiguity permeates throughout. Diegesis is an auditory reflection on the narrative nature of existence. 

∴ In our world of relentless sensory overload, even a brief respite can be a sanctuary. For 3 minutes and 15 seconds, this track offers a sonic cleansing, a perfect reset for our senses.

∴ Olson is a regular collaborator with the ‘LOFS’ collective run by Number One, Oshi Moon, eleu, Jamie Genome and Adam Barnes. Olson runs the LOFS x Crend Request Party ‘2 Crends Deep’ with the rest of the LOFS crew, not being afraid to stray away from his calmer ambient side he can be found regularly closing the night with an array of dance music spanning from jungle, footwork, techno and beyond. This can also be experienced with his dance floor-focused releases on labels @audiobambino and RLO.
