Textur is proud to present the debut EP of Quiver. His EP ‘Artificial Tranquility’ (TXT-07) commutes between emotional narratives and persistent patterns. The music aims to create a listening experience that invokes both eeriness and familiarity, placed somewhere in between organism and cynicism.

Creating a sonic meeting-space, in which organic and warm timbres from the pipe organ and other acoustic instruments intertwine with the cold and cynical properties of digital sound-design, the EP explores worlds and timbres that are essentially ‘in between’.

The photo-mosaic cover-art has been created by photographer Nicola Hein. Much like the music found on the EP, it has taken form as an abstract piece composed of contrasting yet recognisable pieces of textures and shredded materials.

The EP is the seventh release on Textur, a small non-profit label and music collective rooted in Copenhagen, with an ambition to create a platform for exposure, collaboration and community among artists outside the commercial music scene.

Scim - Surface Tension

ICEFALL is a split single from Beatrix Weapons and Mente3000 where each provides a freezing cold remix of one of the other's tracks.

On Capsule Love, Mente3000 is joined by MODULE. Together they come up with an arctic headnodder riffing around a pounding kick and a joyful vocal sample. Refreshing like a snowball in the face.

Next, Beatrix Weapons flips 7774L1F3 with a creeping crawling bass and hyper hi-hats, building to a sequence of spontaneous avalanches.

“Rianás” is a Hungarian word for the sounds caused by the breaking or moving ice plates of frozen lakes and rivers. We were struck by the innovation and excellent detailed sound that Dávid (with mastering by Roland Nagy) created on this song.

☛ Rianás is the debut EP of yibai aka Dávid Gerlei, a first-year electronic music and media arts student at The University of Pécs.

“I’m constantly watching pixels since I was 5. This album reflects wasted time and digital traumas. MISINPUT TYCOON is a sequel of my FULLSCREEN album from 2019 - a sonic playground that feels much safer to me compared to my previous works. Also, it's the first album I made without hearing „What would XY think about this track?” in my head. These are my hymns for healing from the digital core - hope it will help.”

Roland Nagy (he/him) is a Hungarian sound engineer, ex-media arts student and producer. Ever since 2016 he has released music under https://soundcloud.com/fausto_mercier moniker on labels like on EXILES, Kaer‘Uiks, Pointless Geometry, Infinite Machine or Genot Centre. His work in the field of electronic music production, while resonating with hardcore digital culture and bouncy rhythmic heaviness, is closely connected to his fascination for natural soundscapes and their fractal nature. In particular, Nagy skillfully manages to depict a violent, tense world populated of minuscule yet grand sound variations, intertwined in a web of apparently chaotic textures. He was part of Shape Platform roster in 2020.

Electronic and ambient soundscapes meld with japanese instrumentation and rouge-ah's poignant harp to create a sonic tapestry that ebbs and flows between moments of serene beauty and frenzied dissonance.
From longing nostalgia to the violent confusion and disorientation that comes with the loss of memory, this tracking shot invites the listener to explore the nuances of each sound and word, amidst the juxtaposition of brutal distortion, soaring melodies and punishing walls of noise.
The bold vocals, expertly crafted by Archipel, add another layer of depth to the already rich sonic landscape, shifting from demonic whispers to lullabies in the blink of an eye.
