You Can’t spell Future without FU

Swype Right live is a flickering remembrance of moments in electronic music’s very own history and - if there is any – future. Pseudo artefacts get (over) compressed to build an inescapable centre of a black hole. The condensed legacy of everything which made people dance and cry whilst listening to machines and computers is floating by. Free like an aspirin in a water glass on the verge of dissolution.

Unlike bastard pop or any other types of “postmodern” music it does not operate with carefully chosen quotations. Sampling does not require samplers or even samples. The mind is used as a meandering field recorder. The ensuing depiction is not a hyper-accurate rendition of what was actually there. In fact it shows what the subject imagined happening in a sound space, not only auditory, but contemplated as a whole. 

Using a mix of cheap hardware, trusty like to a painter the most favourite brush, is absolutely sufficient. A single pattern, programmed during soundcheck, is enough to start. There is no complaining about static culture. When their melodies get programmed and drums aligned we know: the retro zombies of music archaeology are already defeated. It is an impatient begging for the total collapse - or just daylight. What the “death zone” is to high altitude climbers, is the peak time for them. Only highly acclimatized human beings are capable of managing the journey without the use of supplements.
