Select Play is a brand/company that deals with music in general. We specialize in writing songs, mixing and mastering music and more on “beat making”, formally known as programming instrumentals. Select Play was found by two very talented and young musicians namely Thelumusa “Tellaman” Owen and Thulasizwe “Lastee” Dlamini. The brand/company was formed on the 20th of November 2011.
Select Play has been working very hard on setting the standards in the African music industry and has worked with a lot of local and abroad talents. We have worked with the likes of Beast (Global Warming Mixtape & Take a Minute Album), Duncan (Tsiki Tsiki Remix Feat. AKA, Mampintsha, Professor and Mdu Masilela), we did a theme song for Ukhozi FM (a song called Klev’ unga- give up), Beatjunky T.P, Sotho Mafia, Zakwe (Imali yegazi Ft Pro Kid & Ngane), Dj. Switch, Priston, Sfiso Ncwane, Weird, Abyfab, Dreamteam and a lot more of other musicians.
Select Play has achieved some achievements in the field they are in. Select Play became 2nd in the Durban’s battle of the year all elements 2011 in the producer’s category. Nominated on Original Material Award 2011, won the producer of the year award at the Original Material Awards 2012 & won the 10K challenge at Back To The City 2013. The songs produced by Select Play® have been getting major support.
Currently we are busy working on a couple of major projects which includes Skye Wanda of DM Media and Nana Atta of Universal Music, and we are hungry to work with even bigger names in the future
