Ang is a painter and DJ currently living in New Haven, CT. Their practice has recently been thinking about sensory unfoldings and body recalibrations across the spaces of abstract painting and electronic music, as well as the sociocultural and economic backdrops of musical diasporas and affects. They co-founded AYI AYI, a Brooklyn-based fundraising party series that centers AAPI femmes/queers and distributes funds to local QTPOC and migrants in the NY area. This year they also co-produced an EP, "Mirrorvision," with Brooklyn artist Devoye (shout out last track!). Thank you XOXA for having me!!

This mix is full of lush, lit, and liquid breaks and syncopations. Forward propulsion and tracks that feel round and punctuated all at once. It rounds out with jungle for floating. Big love to all the genius artists.

Mars Does Vinyl - Dissident

The centennial podcast of this series is brought to us by Morah. At some point in his career, the dark prince of Athens and resident of the Phormix label and event series achieved a unique and iconic status with his unconventional take on gritty electronic music that transcends genres. The first time we experienced this in the flesh was in the old Griessmuehle location on the Sonnenallee in 2019 and were blown away.

Whether it was his debut release on Helena Hauff's label, or the many life-changing performances over the years that are well-documented, his body of work speaks for itself as he graces labels such as Berceuse Heroique, Vanila, Brokntoys, Lux Rec, and most recently on Body Musick as well as a self-released album called Zesta. He's captained the Phormix event series as a resident and is a core part of the Athens crew whose label boasts some of the most exciting releases coming out. He's added another time-lasting performance to his list during the most recent DT Camp two weeks ago. It should be no surprise that we invited him as a special guest for our ADE event together with Pinkman Records on October 19th and can't wait 

These are trying times for all with many significant global events taking place almost daily. With this as the backdrop, we hope this series has brought some enjoyment. Thank you very much to the artists that have contributed to the series over the last two years and to the listeners for tuning in every week. We look forward to seeing all of you on the dance floor. Artist: Confusion

Confusion is a Heidelberg-based producer and resident DJ of the Raserei collective. His dancefloor-oriented sound is characterized by highly effective rhythms, minimalist synths, and trippy pads or textures that traverse various tempos and subgenres, maintaining a consistent energy level. Drawing inspiration from his roots as a drummer and the evolving landscape of techno over the decades, Confusion also finds creative influence in his appreciation for ambient soundscapes, IDM, and other experimental electronic genres. 

Since 2017, he has been shaping the regional techno scene in Mannheim and its surroundings. Co-hosting a visionary event series at Disco Zwei, he has been instrumental in bringing well-respected bookings to the forefront.

In recent years, his focus has expanded to crafting stripped-down yet minimalistic techno tools. Alongside numerous self-releases, remixes, and various artist appearances on labels like Schimmer Records, Duplicity, and SOPTIK, he has earned recognition with releases on well-respected platforms such as the Berlin-based SYXT, PRX Records, and Adapter. Taking the next ambitious step, he and his collective mates decided to launch their own label in June 2022. Confusion's music has garnered support from established artists including DVS1, Luke Slater, Setaoc Mass, Rene Wise, Marrøn, Border One, Kaiser, and Lea Occhi, to name a few. These tracks have found their way into the sets of these artists at renowned venues like Berghain, KHIDI, Bassiani, and Radion.

From her earliest connection to music from punk to funk growing up surrounded by music culture in Los Angeles and also her involvement in the Music Underground for decades, Blackmoon 77 has had a genuine passion for music which spans across many genres and forms.  She has focused her sound exploration into creating musical journeys that convey her unique point of view and feelings through music. Since the start of her career as a DJ in the late 90’s  until today Blackmoon 77 has taken inspiration from the obscure sounds of post punk/wave and experimental, as well as a true DNA connection to Acidhouse and mutant industrial techno.

As a producer she has released on labels such as Discos de los Quebranto, Feral Colony and Veleno Viola. Her respect for the experimental rule breakers and innovators, as well as the artist who channel their world views on corruption through thier music have been  integral.  In this mix she highlights some of the earliest industrial punk and minimal wave/ synth artist to the newest releases that bring awareness and a message about the angst and joy of the human experience.
