Here's the third volume of my Verano Mix series. I've been pulling songs together for it for the last couple of months, and I'm quite happy with what came together. Its an hour to tell the story of a summer day, sunrise to sunset. If everything is right, this should be an escape, a pathway to losing your problems for a day. Put this on, get your windows down, and let your hair get a little messed up. I hope you like it!

Die Sonne knattert, die Wellen scheppern - da bleibt nur eins zu tun: Poseidon macht heute mal eine Wattwanderung. Und was ihn nicht alles erwartet. Meerjungfrauen in Gummistiefeln, auf Würmern reitende Flusskrebse und reichlich Matschepampe. Seinen Dreizack hat er gegen einen Strohhalm eingetauscht und den Strohhalm hat er in einen Strohrum eingetaucht. Sein Algenhaar schlackert im Wind. Wer braucht ein Dach über dem Kopf, wenn er eine Feuerqualle in der Badehose hat? Darauf ein Bottermelk Fresh!

This mix is a collection of old classics and new jams we've been in love with lately. It’s a mixture of songs that we consistently play out or have on repeat around the house. Wie in jeder Musikrichtung gibt es auch im elektronischen Bereich Tracks, an denen kommt man nicht vorbei. Sie entwickeln einfach eine Dynamik, verbreiten sich lauffeuerartig durch die Szene und polarisieren natürlich auch. Von diesen Tracks lieferte https://soundcloud.com/oliverrado gleich mehrere. Die Remixe von „All of me“ von Angus und Julia Stone und auch „Stand up“ von Hindi Zhara sind wohl noch jedem im Ohr. Das Sympathische bei diesem Künstler ist, dass er sich nicht, als die Diskussion um Remixe und Edits hochkochte, auf die eine oder andere Seite schlug. Auch die reflexartige Distanzierung von Remix-Frühwerken, wie bei einigen Künstlern zu beobachten, unterblieb bei Oliver. 

Stattdessen bewies er auch die Fähigkeit zu erstklassiger selbst produzierter Musik mit zahlreichen Eigenproduktionen. So releaste er zahlreiche Tracks auf den Labels Be Free und Tach&Nacht. Auf letzterem gerade vor wenigen Monaten die EP „Minas“. Sein Sound, der immer wieder melancholische mit sphärigen Elementen verknüpft, ist unverkennbar. Dies beweist er auch immer wieder, wenn er  an den Decks steht, denn Oliver ist auch als DJ und Veranstalter bekannt. Und das weit über die Grenzen seiner Heimatstadt Hamburg hinaus. 

Das Besondere an dem Künstler Oliver Rado ist, dass er eben diese Emotionalität in seine Musik einfließen lassen kann, da sie in den meisten Belangen seines Lebens sein größter Antrieb ist. Wir fanden diesen Aspekt sehr spannend, und baten ihn, ein Interview der besonderen Art mit uns zu führen. Nämlich eines, welches für die Antworten ohne Worte sondern nur mit Bild und Ton auskommt. Frei nach dem Motto „Ein Bild sagt mehr als tausend Worte“, kam dabei ein Ergebnis heraus, welches die Antworten sehr gefühlvoll und intensiv darstellt.

Wenn aus Spaß Ernst wird...

Aus einem Scherz entstand eine viel beachtete Aktion. Beim gemeinsamen Hören eines Sets kam die Frage auf: "Sach ma... Wieviele Versionen jibtet von dem Song eijentlich noch..?" Die Antwort war: "Wees ick ooch nich, aba stell da ma vor, die würdet alle in eenem Set jeeben..."

Die Blicke kreuzten sich, die Augen wurden größer... Und einen Monat später wurde das Set geboren. Von jemanden, der das Lied auch heiß und innig liebt, an dieser Stelle jedoch nicht namentlich genannt werden möchte. Allerdings werden wir von diesem Versprechen entbunden, sollte das Set jemals mehr als 1500 Plays erhalten (Für jede Version 100 Plays...) 

Was eigentlich nicht so schwer sein dürfte, denn man muss zugeben, dass das Set tatsächlich auch über den Spaßfaktor hinaus musikalischen Unterhaltungswert hat und technisch allererste Sahne ist.

Ihr glaubt das nicht. Dann probiert es aus. Aber Achtung, wer dieses Set komplett durchhört, wird sobald nicht mehr mit dem Pfeifen aufhören...
