For their debut EP on Tectonic, Beatrice M. drops four deep, dubby cuts bringing weighted bass energy together with techno sensibilities and advanced percussive manoeuvers. Elegant but powerful tracks built for sound systems and curious ears!

Midnight Swim is an ode to the “softer” club sounds, repetitive aquatic grooves that remind Beatrice of their go-to sport: swimming. No phones, just back and forth in the cold water, settling into a mechanical groove. The opening track, Oval, carries its title from the appreciation of soft edges, little distortion, minimal rhythmic pattern.

Upon hearing Pinch’s tune 136 Trek, (itself a nod to Zinc’s 138 Trek), Beatrice decided to name a tune 132 Trek, to continue the lineage of their musical heritage. The tune was already called Trek because it was made after spending some months in London, and realising “everything is a bloody trek”!! 

The EP’s title track is about warm-up music and enjoying the earlier hours of the party - a quick immersion and then time for bed, rather than banging club tracks all night long. Beatrice likes to show up early at the club, watch it fill and then leave as it packs out. Midnight Swim is a dip into a roller. 

The last tune of the EP features Sub Basics, the first artist to have a vinyl release on Beatrice’s own label, Bait, and one of their biggest musical inspirations. Sub Basics’ immersive progressive sounds fit simultaneously in the deep techno world and the dubstep world. A beautiful in-between.

this is my FRAI EDIT of a Shiloh track blended with Memphis rap vocals at 166 BPM. The track’s called “BABY” — and Shiloh has been one of my all-time favorite songwriters over the past decade, especially back in my college days.

The tune opens with a short DJ-scratch intro, then dives into a dark, punchy kick, bouncy bassline, and atmospheric tops layered with chopped vocal snippets. It rolls into a groovy sub-driven section that’s perfect for head-nodding, peak-time energy, or just vibing out late at night.

hier kommt mein FRAI EDIT eines Shiloh-Tracks, gemixt mit Memphis-Rap-Vocals bei 166 BPM. Der Track heißt „BABY“ – und Shiloh gehört seit Jahren zu meinen absoluten Lieblings-Songwritern, besonders in meinen College-Zeiten.

Der Song startet mit einem kurzen DJ-Scratch-Intro, bevor er in einen dunklen, treibenden Kick, eine bouncige Bassline und atmosphärische Tops mit zerhackten Vocal-Snippets übergeht. Danach folgt ein grooviger Sub-Bass-Part, perfekt zum Kopfnicken, Dancefloor abreißen oder einfach nur Chillen und Viben.

これは僕の FRAI EDIT で、Shiloh のトラックに メンフィス・ラップのボーカルを組み合わせたものです。
タイトルは 「BABY」。Shiloh はこの10年間で最も好きなソングライターの一人で、特に大学時代によく聴いていました。

短い DJスクラッチのイントロ から始まり、ダークでパンチのあるキック、弾むようなベースライン、そして 空気感のあるトップス と カットアップされたボーカルスニペット が重なり合います。
その後、グルーヴィーでサブベースがうねるパートへ。
