In the peak of the Summer, in the midst of all the festival chaos, the mixtape I wanted to make the most was not about blends and big bad basslines! … But the soothing, luscious and relaxing tones of a range of blissful tropical and/or jazzy music I have been collecting for a while, both live and electronic.  I’ve never made a chill-out mixtape before, and its still gets groovy and builds at times, but its always a light and fluffy vibe (hence the name!) and gets brought back down to an ambient vibe quite regularly through-out.

I put a LOT of love into this 2 hours+ selection! ❤️ So use it to nurse a hangover, or just to start a beautiful day… or to relax in the garden on a sunny afternoon, soundtrack a beautiful sunset... or even set the tone for a romantic evening! ;)

To coincide with the launch of the documentary celebrating the history of the legendary Mo' Wax Records, we asked one of our favourite Montreal DJs, Phil Larochelle, to dive into the back catalogue and record a session consisting of his all-time favourites. 

The imprint founded in 1992 by James Lavelle was home to the some of the forward-thinking genre-defying beats. From DJ Krush to DJ Shadow, Motorbass to Unkle, the label was a melting-pot of Jazz, Hip Hop, Breaks, Trip Hop, Electronica and whatever else artists felt like putting on a slice of wax.
