After relocating from Spain to home town Bristol, MINTY has established herself as a selector of underground bass music, mixing Dubstep with other sounds of Grime, Breaks and beyond.

Since starting her journey DJing in 2018 she has played for the likes ofDeep Medi, Croydub, Sector Seven, NASS Festival, Eskimo Dance and more, alongside undertaking radio residencies and appearances for the likes of RinseFM, Subtle, Swu Fm & Noods.

Having first started her journey in a Grime collective known as ‘Wine n Grime’, MINTY is alsothe founder of Bristol based brand W8E Recordings, taking inspiration from Bristol's underground music scene and love for Sound System music. Expect her setsto be filled with newer weighty sounds.

The end of the year is upon us once again, so it's time to reflect on yet another stacked twelve months of 140 carnage! This years end of year special comes in two parts, where I run through a heap of tunes that has sound tracked my year throughout two one hour sessions. This first instalment features thirty of some of my most played tunes this year, be it a track that has been at the head of releases and the scene in general or those that have flown under the radar. "This mix is a selection of mostly my own work, including some unreleased sketches and ideas which might become future album tracks, some recent tracks from my new compilation Cosmology, music from forthcoming releases and a couple of older tracks that went relatively under the radar. I also included a beat-less version of "The Lake" from my last EP Torchlight vol.1 which I personally enjoy listening to more than the original.

It is difficult to speak too much about my own work because I believe we are all transceivers of information, and therefore my thoughts on the music won't be the same as yours so why preach about it? The best way I could describe the mix is to say it is threading a line from past to future via the present, and stylistically somewhat skewed to what you might consider "typical" of my stuff...perhaps.

Stylistically I hope to have brought the more etheric side of my work to the forefront for this selection, making it, I hope a good repeated listen. I think the best mixes take their time and fill a space around other tasks rather than demanding your entire concentration for an hour or more.

@Compauk’s been away for a minute, but the producer is back with a brand new EP on Deep Medi (from which we recently premiered the excellent ‘Four Four Claps’).
