SXLA (pronounced: six•eh•luh) consists of Alexis Salas, who grew up through a hip-hop influence as well as a Latinx-cultured background. Throughout his adolescent life, he explored and found a love for Rock and, ultimately, Electronic Dance Music. While studying film at the College of Saint Benedict & Saint John's University, not only did he learn to appreciate different generations of music, but also found a drive for appreciating new music.
