tVC philosophy is:
free parties for free people.
tVC support and condone the free party movement worldwide as a means to personal and spiritual enlightenment.

tVC sound system was formed in 1986 in Whitstable, Kent, UK.
tV Cabbage or tVC are now a louche collective of artists, musicians, producers, hedonists. artists, technicians, promoters, writers and DJ's who all work together and are dedicated to house music free parties as a means of pleasure, fulfilment, a base for networking and an exchange of ideas. Amongst other things in their lives.  
Well that's what we try to do.  

Pre-house the music played was an amalgam of reggae, hip-hop, American and UK underground guitar music as well as old punk and psychedelic. This was played under the tVC moniker at house parties, free festivals as well as various halls and student venues around the Canterbury area.

As house music exploded in the late eighties, crews, or DJ's from crews, such as DiY (Nottingham), Tonka (Brighton) and The Lazy House Crew (Bristol) began to appear on the free festival circuit. This amalgam of traveller and 'raver' lifestyle began to produce hybrids like tVC and Aphrodisiac in Kent. Inspired by the free party ethos of the travellers the parties began to take the form of gatherings once the free festival circuit had been ‘crushed’.

tVC Sound System was born in 1986 in Whitstable, Kent. They were named after the 'Gaye Bikers on Acid tune' "TV Cabbage" from the album "Drill Your Own Hole" released in 1986 on Virgin records. Before the house explosion and the adaption of the Do It Yourself ethos Drill Your Own Hole kinda sounded like the thing to do at the time. So we drilled. The band had a lead singer called Mary. Paul, Nick and Carl, the founding members, thought that was mildly amusing, and, needing a name for the band promotion 'enterprise' that they had just set up, choose tVC. 'We just wanna get bands into Whitstable', snarled Carl.

During these early days they promoted thrash, American underground and UK traveller bands and anyone else they could. Often badly. Playing their favourite music between bands (reggae, hip-hop, guitar based US and UK thrash) they were forced to buy some decks. Learning the promotion game didn't come easy and it seemed like it wouldn't last long. In fact it didn't come easy or last long. Within two years the band promotion stopped.

In between this hectic promotion schedule they did a few house parties for friends. Started a reggae/hip-hop night at the local Labour Club (on a Wednesday) and went to a few free festivals with the decks and a few little speakers. They saw Hawkwind (several times) Subhumans/Culture Shock, The Dub Warriors: the scene was alive and extremely active. It was a time of enlightenment; of exposure to the traveller values of vegetarianism, individualism, egalitarianism, anarchism. They went to Stonehenge in '87 and saw the police break up the celebrations.

Back home squatters took over several houses in the area. They were always up for a party. tVC always had the kit to do it and, naturally, were always up for a party too. If a band wanted to play; great! Just put 'em through the desk.

Self-produced British composer and recording artist for 25 years, Imogen Heap has released five solo albums, another as one half of Frou Frou and collaborated with countless and varied artists including Taylor Swift, Nitin Sawhney, Deadmau5, Eric Whitacre, Jeff Beck and Jon Hopkins. Between projects a constant for the past year is every Thursday afternoon, Imogen Q&A chats with her fans via The Listening Chair with those who subscribe to Imogenheap.app to collaborate together on Augmented Imogen, Imogen's in dev AI.

Typoboy, est connu pour avoir été le 1er Dj electro à mixer exclusivement de l'Electro Swing en France, c'est aussi l'initiateur des premières soirées entièrement dédiées à ce son et l'un des 4 membres fondateurs de l'Electro Swing Club. 

Son style de DJing unique est appelé Gangsta Swing. Il contient : un quart de mashups de Hip-Hop, un quart de Swing House sautillante et un demi de bootlegs électro et rétro à la fois. Typoboy augmente ses représentations d’une dimension électro-acoustique car il est souvent accompagné d’un saxophoniste virtuose avec lequel il interagit en temps réel. Ce cocktail produit l'effet d'une bombe dansante sur les pistes des clubs. 

Toujours armé de son fidèle Holster à l'épaule, il reçoit chaque mois dans son bac la crème des promo copies en provenance du monde entier. Il révèle les groupes de cette nouvelle scène bouillonnante en les invitants à se produire à l'Electro Swing Club de Paris.  Un cigare coincé entre les dents, il sillonne l'Europe et se produit sur les scènes des festivals avec son improbable look de gangster des platines. Londres est sa deuxième maison et Berlin son terrain de jeux régulier. On le retrouve également dans l'univers du Burlesque (Cointreau Privé de Dita Van Teese, Cabaret des Filles de Joie de Juliette Dragon). 

Il a joué auprès de groupes et DJs tels que Lyre le Temps, G-Swing, Caravan Palace, Dirty Honkers, Algorythmik, Smokey Joe & the Kid, Horatio, JFTH, Mr. B the Gentleman Rhymer, Kitten & The Hip, Swing Zazou, Sound Assembly, Movits ! Typoboy aka Tony Holster is a Parisian DJ in love with both traditional and electronic music. His first vinyl loves were scratching and mixing. His search for an authentic sound led to him falling into the cook-pot of swing and the mixture of these 3 major musical influences was to give birth to a DJ style all his own. As pioneer of the Electro Swing style in Paris, he started to practise and the Gangsta Swing was born (a blend of Hip-Hop mash-ups and jackin Swing House).

Electro Swing DJ T-Boy mixes records that take you back in time, to the days when Jazz wasn’t highbrow music and when the clubs were a thousand miles away from today’s sanitised versions. He also mixes underground swing house to make your toes wriggle. 

His style has moved on lately to include sounds from the Balkans of his youth. To listen to one of his mixes is to feel the power of brass and marching bands from New Orleans to the Balkans, underscored with the freshest bass-lines and electronic beats. It's the sound of the yesteryears (1920) with the production of the next decade (2020). 

T-Boy is one of the founders of Electro Swing Club International. he organizes Electro Swing Club de Paris, and he plays at major Electro Swing events throught Europe and for V.I.P. Burlesque events like Cointreau Privé by Dita Van Teese. 

He played at Nuits Sonores de Lyon (Biggest Electronic Music Festival in France), Bus Palladium, Proud Cabaret (London), La Machine du Moulin Rouge,  Espace Pierre Cardin, Salon d'Eté de Champagne Perrier & Jouet (London), Batofar, La Bellevilloise, Le Cabaret Sauvage and at the famous Secret Garden Party Festival (UK) alongside artists like Kormac,  JFTH, Horatio, Algorythmik, Smokey Joe and the Kid, KKC Orchestra, Dirty Honkers, Siwng Zazou, Max Pashm, Caravan Palace, Movits! MrChukkel has been DJing since the mid 90's. He started out owning his own mobile DJ business and then became a commercial night club resident.  In the late 90's to early 00's he became a fan of the harder genres of dance music and could be found frequently throwing shapes in the Hard House rooms of Sunday Roast.

In the late 00's he worked his first underground festival, providing the sound for a 24hr Cafe, whilst there he experienced RiffRaff (Hard House) and Sunrise (PSY-Trance).  Since that weekend he has become an integral part of the Sunrise crew and helps out in many of the northern underground music events, such as Sunrise, Satori, Elemental, TRIBE, RiffRaff, Beats Bizarre and Remedy.

He is now known for being a very versatile DJ, playing all kinds of genres, he is best known for playing PSY-Trance and Techno at festivals such as Equinox, Beat-Herder, Bearded Theory, The Rising, Willowman and Landed, but he doesn't limit himself to one genre.  You will find his name on many line-ups in the northern music scene playing anything from Acid Techno, Electro-Swing, Drum & Bass, Tech-House, Glitch-Hop and of course PSY-Trance.
