Cooper Claire is the moniker and musical calling card for multi-instrumentalist, producer, and songwriter David Cooper Claire. 

Dave has worked extensively as a drummer and sideman in both Michigan and Texas, recording and performing with members of Billy Joel, Foreigner, Kenny Rogers, M83, Eminem, and The Polyphonic Spree.

Dave produces, composes, performs, and engineers music from his home studio, heretofore lovingly known as Clairified Sound, where he records drums and other instruments remotely for various artists. Dave loves literally every genre of music, and tries to be all at once: emotional, dynamic, precise, and musically significant -- or at least that's the highest mountain that he's constantly trying to climb.

Dave has programmed electronic drums, sequenced MIDI loops, and composed synth basses for the Billboard Music Awards on ABC (under the leadership of musical director/composer Edgar Struble), in addition to composing musical portions contributed to the incidental cues for the American Music Awards on ABC, as well as programming MIDI for the same show.

Dave's greatest aspiration is to meld the tremendous song and sonic power of modern producers such as Blake Mills, Johnathon Wilson, and John Congleton, with the sardonic tongue-in-cheek of artists such as Frank Zappa, Father John Misty, and Hunter S. Thompson, into a unique amalgam that truly represents his own specific identity.
