Psynetyk is the aural embodiment of Tijuanense Paul Palomera, hailing from the Mexican lands of Baja California.

The project compels sonic dwellers to an immersive construct of dark chaotic scapes, desolate atmospheres and fiercely explosive articulations, powered by exuberant basslines and a hefty dose of experimentation at high speeds.

Drawn to psytrance music since his first rave in 2005 and with influences from Kindzadza, Furious, CPC, Paracense, Kasatka, Calyptratus, Yaminahua, Tegmentum, Cosmo, and Orestis, Paul started producing a year later and formed Psynetyk, as well as 2 side projects, War Dogs and Kitcio.

Psynetyk lists countless releases over the years with his debut album, The true inner workings, published in 2020 on Blackout Records, followed by Kitcio album the same year , and his EP, The Psynetyk module in 2021. He has performed all over Mexico and Guatemala.

Psynetyk joined DarkWeb Records mid-2021and due to release his album Justifying Existence on the label.

For this set I took a bit of a different approach. Instead of aiming for maximum coherency I decided to have a bit more fun crossing between genres. It goes into different directions resulting in around 5/6 different vibes. So cool to see it connecting to different people in the crowd as the sound changed. 😈

WHAT'S behind the darkness? Once you start down the path of heresy there is no turning back - and why would you want to? So we plunge even further into the unknown, away from our ancient enemy - staleness, stagnation and normalcy. As we flee we fling open every door we find, revealing not darkness, but chunks of primal chaos, half formed ideas, lost artifacts, fragments, discarded remnants and strange emotions. Shockingly we find that the void that we once considered black and empty actually teems with life - microscopic creatures and entities so large we can't describe or even think about them.

Here then, are some fragments we have found - images of that writhing chaos, constructed with all the obsessive precision of a madman or the hurried broad strokes of one who is being pursued.

Compiled by Spiritual Tazer and Andaaza. All tracks mastered by SooSpicey except Track 1 mastered by Antagon.

During the dark times of late 2020 I noticed my music taste started moving away from Hitech. Instead I’ve found myself resonating more with deep & tribal sounds between 160-200. Throughout the 2nd lockdown in NL invested a lot of time into finding new tracks and restructuring my collection, and this is the result. 

Selecting only the highest quality of Darkpsy, Psycore and Experimental, and attempting to compose the perfect atmospheric coherency. 

Consider this (after 4yrs of Djing) my new sound; Idioblast 2.0, with Hitech definitively in the rear-view.
