Smooth beats, head-bobbing grooves and atmospheric sounds are what you get when you listen to this North Carolina native. Born in the ’70s, Syl (short for Sylvester) has been involved in music from early childhood. Syl was schooled classically in brass instruments such as trumpet and french horn. Having collected Electronic Dance Music records since the beginning, Syl began DJing around the southern United States under the moniker “Tom Foolery”, of which he maintained the legendary 4-year residency for “Patio Lounge Sessions” at Rush Lounge in downtown Raleigh NC.  During this time, he went on to help launch labels such as Deep Secret Records, Resonance Project, and his most recent venture which he founded with DJ FM, HiJinx Records.  Now having returned back to the music industry after a brief family-focused hiatus, the name of Tom Foolery was retired….and Syl Midnight was born!  Thus, Syl Midnight has combined his full set of experiences to bring us in 2015 a funky, primordial and melodic affair in his debut album release “Ripples of Time”. If you appreciate music laden with chunky dance beats, dreamy atmospheric sounds, and progressive melodies to keep your soul centered…listen to Syl Midnight!
