Our Hupupa has spend some days around the seaside bringing lovely vibes and music; meanwhile the summer is moving towards the end, we are delight to share a live mix from our fratello Ka:lu recorded at Alma Vibes, seaside resort located on east Italian cost, during an Hupupa's showcase.

About Ka:lu

Luca Cataldo (Ka:lu) is a multidisciplinary artist that focuses his works on audiovisual installation, big projections, vjing, music production and djing. Through his arts, as in music, he always try to express the believe into sounds as universal language, a way to get in meditation, a tool to understand where we are coming from, where we are, where we are going. Any of his creation always has a story behind that aims to deliver aesthetic journeys providing an immersive experiences for heterogeneous audiences. “I am the dream & the dreamer!”

Here are two hours of Austropop in all facets from  the record collection of @Stirnband. In his own words: "Vinyl only with one exception: The second track in the intro is the title track of the 1982 debut film Niki Lists "Malaria" aka "Café Malaria", which I happen to see at the beginning of the 90s in Karlsruhe's Schauburg in the presence of the director. Colourful cocktails of various subcultures of the New Wave time get their Schmäh here and arouse my interest for the first time in the peculiarity of the Austrian New Wave in film and music (but it takes until the re-release in 2007 on DVD until I will see the film again). It's also this Schmäh that holds together the eclectic genre term "Austropop" consisting of New Wave, Space Rock, Liedermacher, Poprap, Wiener Blutrausch, Discofunk, Parody and Grotesque.
