After an incredible 2013, stacked with quality releases from a mass of great acts, we’re proud to present the first Dispatch Recordings release of 2014.  Who better to bring in the New Year than Optiv & BTK? The duo return to the label for the first time since their debut with us back in 2011 (“Get Ready / Submission”) and they’ve been on a production warpath ever since!  We’re proud to have them back at Dispatch with two unrelenting dancefloor killers.  

Starting off the single we have “Zero Tolerance”. This ferocious track is not to be taken lightly, it growls and progresses like a raging bull hurtling towards a matador. Receiving strong support from the likes of Andy C and Klute, it was also picked up by UKF for their YouTube channel on first listen.  Prepare for damage.

“Tapout” is the second track on the single, packing just as much venom as the first. Towering over the dance in true gladiatorial fashion, the gnarly bass chugs brutishly across any floor, whilst flashes of techy overtones run riot through the heart of the track. Sitting comfortably in all outcomes, whether it’s festival capacities or intimate club crowds, “Tapout” completes the release perfectly. Optiv & BTK do the business once again.

We really are trying to step into new territory with this sound and hope you guys feel the positive emotion we are trying to convey. This is going to be the last song in our live sets for the next year.

My favourite song from my favourite album by my favourite band. Ok, so you could accuse me of being biased, and I am, but i'm telling the truth here. Sundream is the fourth, but maybe not the last single to be lifted from the highly acclaimed debut album by RÜFÜS. And like them and everything they do, it's super slick, yet emotive, dancey, yet dreamy, large but yet somehow small at the same time. It's as home in the boiler room as it is in the car. 

I'm sure I don't need to tell you the album is already gold in Aus, that the boys pretty much sell out everywhere they play or that they just had an essential new tune. So let me tell you about the remixes. 

We ran with the "favourites" theme here - we got our favourite man of mystery, the chart topping Claptone (check that groove), our favourite techno cousins Wordlife and our favourite tall man Hayden James to make this one of the best packages we have ever put out.

The "Roundies" are well known for throwing parties all over Switzerland and inviting guests from all different walks of life. They have hosted and played alongside the likes of Beastie Boys, Holy Ghost!, Spank Rock, Justice as well as Simian Mobile Disco, Soulwax, M.I.A, Crookers just to name a few. 

  With the signature sound of the sweet steel drum on their latest signing to Jesse Rose’s Uber cool label Made To Play, it's no wonder these noblemen have an avalanche of support from music moguls such as Brodinski, Digitalism, Diplo and BBC Radio 1 announcer Annie Mac.

French electronic music producer and DJ, Yuksek, launches his label Partyfine with a debut EP on May 13th.

Independency is a key word for Partyfine - the will to participate in every production level of an artist from recording and mixing, to mastering and distribution, to the location of the label, Yuksek's studio in Reims (France). Far from any style diktat, one of Partyfine's aims is to present Yuksek's diverse musical tastes including disco, electro, indie and club.

Beyond all, Partyfine was born to gather a family of talented musicians who could collaborate together around a defined concept using their own backgrounds and desires, releasing great music and throwing down some serious parties.

Yuksek explains: "The label is a natural extension of my past years where I have produced for other artists. I met many of Partyfine's collaborators this way (JD Samson, The Magician, Oh Land, Juveniles etc) and just felt like extending the experience, writing music with them, not just for them".

The first release of the label is the result of an encounter in New York with pop Danish singer and producer Oh Land, and an extension of the collaboration with French electro-pop band Juveniles, whose debut album Yuksek is producing.

The EP will also feature remixes from Michael Garcon (AS Dragon), Sam Tiba (Club Cheval) and DJ-producer Kasper Bjørke.

With only having played in Denmark we are lucky to see this rising star perform in Amsterdam this month. Sivesgaard will play at Studio 80 on the 22nd of June at Prisma w/ 16 Bit Lolitas, Worakls, Hurbert Kirchen and much more.

With his tracks being played by many great artists such as Edu Imbernon and Maya Jane Coles he is becoming a more respected artist in time and one to keep an eye on for sure. Lately he has been working a lot with other  upcoming artists like Pete Oak and these collaboration will probably bring some new fresh tunes soon. For now you will have to do it with this fresh Mixtape by Sivesgaard.

Featuring collaborations with No U-Turn mastermind Nico, Bristol’s DJ Die, super-duo Calyx & Teebee, DNAudio cohorts Silent Witness and Survival, Shogun Audio’s SpectraSoul and vocalists Kyo and SP:MC, the album offers a glorious journey through the spectrum of Break’s styles and influences and a clear indication of where his talents will lead him next.
