London based label Claptrap presents ‘KOKO NI KITE’ the debut EP from DJ, Producer & Multi-Instrumentalist DJ Goodboy featuring a remix from label head Vanity Project.

DJ Goodboy brings us three original wobbly house tracks and a remix by Vanity Project for fans of acid, cosmic and dreamy house music. All four tracks are primed and ready for the club, especially for those darker freakier dancefloors.

We've been talking to a lot of producers and musicians lately. This gave us understanding that in the process of expressing themselves, musicians leave a lot of experiments unused.

We were really able to feel a high degree of experience and influence of time on them in these compositions.

In our new issue, we want to introduce to you a producer from St. Petersburg - Nightdrive.

"I did a lot of experimental work on this release, focusing on UK/Garage, electronica and acid. It is inspired by changes both in life and music,
searching for ones place in this world." (Nightdrive)

Over the past 7 years, Nightdrive's music has been released on Russian and European labels and, most likely it is presented on all continents of the globe.

Apart from digital releases, you can find his solo cassettes and tracks on vinyl records.

We hope that after having listened to his music you will get the same feelings and emotions as we did and you'd probably like to share your own impressions and experience of self discovery process with us.

“Life On Venus – Remixed & Reimagined” is the new multi-disciplinary project from London-based duo Awkward Moments, comprising of producer & electronic composer Mimi Xu and multi-instrumentalist & lead vocalist MAGUIRE.

The remix project sees the pair open up a dialogue about the fluidity of gender in an often polarised world. By inviting their male producer & DJ friends to remix the hyper-feminine queer love story ’Life On Venus’ – a track that celebrates both the transcendental and uniting powers of psychedelics in deepening connection – a wide range of musical responses have emerged, exposing the nuanced layers of masculinity that is often regarded in dangerously binary terms.

This series welcomes responses from the likes of –Trey Mirror, N-Gynn, Hans Berg & Frank Wiedemann – that will become part of a limited edition vinyl, set for a staggered waterfall release throughout the coming months with the first EP due for 21st April 2023. A second EP will follow with remixes by the likes of Ewan Pearson, Craig Richards, and Sasha in October 2023 to complete the collection.

Following that, Awkward Moments will respond to the remixes by turning the mirror back on itself and taking back control of the male gaze through a series of LIVE performances. By opening up a creative dialogue between the sexes new forms of connection emerge, forcing us to confront our own biases and perspectives surrounding the subject.

Canadian label Breathing Room Records is back with their third digital release after a lengthy pandemic-related hiatus. A little over two years after their previous outing, they are happy to introduce Tropica, a duo from Newcastle, UK. Forest Floor is their debut EP and it includes three original tracks as well as a remix from Toronto-based producer and DJ, Ciel. This is the first remix in Breathing Room’s catalogue.

All three originals are slow and chuggy. Monstera Deliciosa, the opening track, is driven by warm chords and a wobbly synth line while a siren-esque pad weaves in and out. Birds of Paradise continues on a similar wavelength but dives a little further into acid territory with its lead and stays true to its name with different birds contributing to the overall ambience. Devil’s Ivy is a little darker in tone with it’s delayed pads, a didgeridoo and haunting scream-like samples permeating throughout. Ciel’s take on Monstera Deliciosa stays true to the original but introduces a juxtaposing, almost playful lead and tougher percussion, giving the track a faster, bouncier feel.
