The Dark People collect the writings of others - books, stone tablets, parchments, anything with words - and keep them safe, seeking to claim every word ever written from the first to the last. It was first mentioned in the Longest Journey; Minstrum Yerin compared the Sentinel Enclave library to the Dark People's Library, although added wistfully to April "but of course, we're not allowed anywhere near [it]". It was also mentioned in the unlockable Book of Secrets, which was supposedly lodged there.

The Library is located within the Dark People's City, and thus its location changes with the ocean currents. April Ryan travels there by Shadow Ship, whereas Zoë Castillo, Brian Westhouse and Crow take a cloudship.

The Library itself is a huge structure, seemingly built inside a gigantic tree whose trunk and roots reach deep underwater. A spiral staircase runs down the centre, with bookshelves set into the walls at intervals. There are many desks and chairs for readers to use, and the interior is lit by candles and phosphorescent lights. The walls are pierced with large windows that allow an underwater view, revealing other trees growing down through the water nearby, and colourful fish. The Library is protected by the Dark People, and the fact its location often changes allows a degree of secrecy. This made it an excellent sanctuary for the White Dragon.

Access to the Library is only permitted in special cases. The reborn White Dragon is allowed in because of her status as one of the Draic Kin. While April should have been admitted as a Wave, she actually has to procure a rare book that the Dark People did not already possess to barter passage. Zoë is made welcome because the White of the Kin told the Dark People she was coming. However, Crow seems to have been in the Library for some time, reading as part of his 'voyage of self discovery', and Brian Westhouse mentions a Dolmari man from the Rose Court who was permitted access. Apparently, admittance is normally at the Dark People's discretion, and for their own reasons,.

After another successful release from debut artist ‘Chapter’, which once again, received an 8/10 rating from Mixmag, Synchronicity are back with what they are hoping is to be their biggest release to date…cue Thology.

No stranger to Synchronicity, Peter Carr a.k.a Thology, is a hugely talented, multi genre producer hailing from Guildford. His Previous Synchronicity release, ‘Introspect EP’, gained great support and pushed his production into the new level. That new level is Rabbit Holes.
‘Rabbit Holes’ is everything you want and more. Subtle pads, airy vocals and fragile percussions subconsciously fixate your mind, filling every bit of silence effortlessly. The tranquil introduction gradually builds to a euphoric break, where the power of the vocals merged with smooth bass warm the body. It is the perfect production; unique drum patterns reveal a hidden rhythm without overpowering the admirably delicate atmosphere. Every element fuses wholly to create a masterpiece.

Accompanying Rabbit Holes is a variety of remixes covering multiple genres. The first of which comes from Russian based producer Pixelord, who pushes Rabbit Holes into the future. Repitched vocals, stabbing pads and whirling sub bass bring out an almost funky element within Thology’s production. Its complexity is fixating, and we love it.

Flipping the chilled, tranquil vibe for a raw, chest rumbling bassline, is Dubstep & Garage duo Matta. This remix is definitely one for the bass lovers.

Giving Rabbit Holes a sensual twist is our final remixer, Guildford based producer, Capeface. Smooth pads blend with the steady beating of toms and stabby vocal clips to create a track that subconsciously has your head rocking. Unlike the complexity of Pixelord’s remix, Capeface reminds us that sometimes, less is more.

“Music to me is a snippet of a moment in time from that artist’s life” speaks 25 year old Oxford based producer, Portway. “Replicating that is the most difficult part.”

As difficult as Portway makes out, his productions never fail to manifest then manipulate the listeners every emotion, slowly guiding you on the same personal pathway which crafted the tracks initial idea. This is the strongest form of artistic connection. To not only achieve this, but to replicate it, is why we are presenting to you, Synchronicity’s forthcoming release.

“Get You” is a truly stimulating production, every aspect subconsciously drawing more attention until you’re hooked in the tracks impassioned nature. Reverbed, pitched vocal hooks twist and turn amongst the classically sorrowful piano to create a soothing environment for the listeners mind to lose itself. As the journey continues, the once delicate piano takes on an aggressive persona, the vocals become ever lower and the crumbling clap lengthens until our once idyllic state is shattered by the grounding, modernised kick and then all is seemingly lost. The journey is captivating whilst devastating, and the message that all can be lost is undoubtedly powerful.

Accompanying “Get You” is the almost emotionally juxtaposing production, “Dust It’. The title alone reveals the continuation of your previous journey. Following from the end of “Get You”, “Dust It” begins with sombre pads and similar pitched vocals which give a mellow ambience. However, as the production continues, the pads rise in vibrancy until joined by the rhythmic percussive taps which increase the tempo and build to the introduction of warm sub bass and gentle beat until climax is reached. The gentle uplifting nature of “Dust It” reminds the listener that light at the end is inevitable, which brings the whole of Portway’s 2 track EP round in full circle.
