Emergence

I have been asked to compose a five minute electroacoustic piece containing a blend of field recordings, synthesis and manipulation of audio. The inspiration for this is taken from analytical psychology and ideas from Carl Jung on the ‘shadow self’. The image in large part directed my musical ideas throughout the piece. - Focusing on the endless dance and acknowledgement of unconscious actions (incorporating the shadow). - aiming to create a soundscape which is polarised, eerie, mysterious, obscure and somewhat repetitive.

We are excited to premiere Go See by Joe Armon-Jones. Joe delivers a playful, improvisatory approach, showcasing everything he has learned on his musical journey so far. Full of ad-libs and stunning solos, the piece is almost hypnotic in its musicality. 

As well as being a founding member of the Ezra Collective he has performed with a wide range of artists from Pharoahe Monch, to ATA KAK, and is a regular fixture in the bands of Nubya Garcia, Idiom, China Moses and Binker Golding Quartet.
