This was the final composition during the performance. After several weeks of making 'prepared' reels to perform, I finally showcased the instrument for the first time. 

The entire 'performance' improvised even the preparing of the reels. I recorded some of the recordings on reels then improvised re-recording them on other reels. I also spliced and re-spliced the reels many times during this process. This led to many interesting reverse sounds and short cuts.

Amore Rumore is noise and love. In this release, The Oszillators’ signature atmospheres become smoother and more defined— yet rawer and more abrasive. It marks a moment of sonic maturity, a solidified sound shaped by the band’s ever-evolving language of spontaneous expression.

Conceived to capture the electric energy of their live performance, the album was recorded in 2023 at VEB in Siegen during the band’s German tour.

Haruka mainly played metal bowls and a few other instruments in this session. She uses her voice to chant in melodic tongues. The tone and quality of her voice match all her instruments, like they were made for each other. Playing slowly with intention, she plays only the notes she needs. Her sessions feel deeply personal, unalloyed, and free.

She starts this session with a flute that sounded like her voice. Her breath was so steady, pure and unwavering. She sings with the bowls, mimicking their pitch and sustain by holding the note as long as possible until she disappears.

I am an Improvising double bass player.
Improvisation is a way for me to express myself unconditionally. A way to communicate and to open myself emotionally and musically. A way to listen to myself, my instrument, my co-musicians and the spatial environment. I use contemporary techniques in my improvisations. For me, these techniques have a similar function in my music as the vocabulary in the languages that I speak. Without these technical skills, I can not talk the musical language that I want express myself in. So without it, I cannot express my art.

Since 20 years I have been working as a professional Double-Bass player and teacher within the genres of Improvised and Contemporary Music, as well as Modern Jazz, Theater Music and Music for Children. My curiosity, passion and urge to go deeper in the music has brought me together with several musicians and dancers around the world, artistic research and participation on 45 records. I have got four Contemporary solo & duo pieces dedicated to me and I recently conducted artistic research (Advanced Post Graduate Diploma) at the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen.
